We need Donna
back in Augusta

We (Maine residents) need Donna Bailey leading the State’s Health Coverage, Insurance, and Financial Services Committee. I appeared numerous times during the last legislative sessions testifying for or against several proposed insurance bills. Donna’s leadership, collaborating with state agency leaders, and numerous external stakeholders provided the foundation for proposed legislation being crafted into great state law. Her life experience, legal expertise, and judicial temperament should make all our communities proud to return Donna to Augusta. In a political climate challenging our norms, now is not the time to lose our community’s “leadership by example” candidate. Let’s return Donna Bailey to her State Senate seat.

As a lifelong resident of Saco, former mayor, city councilor and planning board member, I support re-electing Donna Bailey for State Senate. Donna has represented us exceptionally well. Donna is an attorney and former probate court judge, who brings this legal expertise to serving as our senator. She is uniquely qualified.

Donna is someone who seeks common sense solutions, not sound bites. When Saco needed money for a new school, Donna insured state funding was there. When Donna saw that older Mainers were struggling to pay their property taxes, she implemented the Senior Property Tax Deferral Program. Donna’s community spirit is unsurpassed. Whether it is volunteering at community events, or bringing smiles to children’s faces dressed as Donna Duck, she always gives back.

Donna Bailey will continue to fight for us, and we need her in our corner. Please join me and vote Donna Bailey for state senator.

Re-elect Ingwersen
to State Senate

I will be voting on Nov. 5 to reelect Henry Ingwersen to the Maine Senate. Henry is a voice of reasoning and his actions have reflected that in his past actions as our senator representing Southern Maine in York County. His compassion and efforts concerning conservation and agriculture have proven to me he cares about land protection for farming and for our farming families and communities statewide. His role as chair of the joint standing committee of Agriculture,Conservation and Forestry has demonstrated his leadership skills and that he cares. As our current serving senator, having proven his role in his service to his constituents and his experience in leading I encourage you to join me in reelecting Senator Ingwersen to serve us here in York County.

Don Marean
Hollis

I will be voting to re-elect Henry Ingwersen to the Maine Senate so that he can continue working for us in District 32. I first met Henry when he campaigned for the State House in 2017 and learned he spent years as an elementary school teacher, a small businessman, farmer, and a beekeeper. Henry has served on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee, the Health and Human Services Committee, and is Senate chair of the Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Committee. As a result of his efforts, teacher pay has increased, state education funding is now at the mandated 55% level, and thousands more Mainers have health insurance and dental coverage. The environment is also a significant priority for Henry, who was one of the first to raise concerns and awareness of the hazards of PFAs. To learn more, check out his website, henry4senate.org. Let’s keep hardworking Senator Ingwersen in Augusta.

Sea levels
aren’t rising

CO2 is plant food. Sea levels aren’t rising. We have already cleaned up our air and water, with low levels of pollution. The Climate Council and the 2019 climate law/climate action plan are oppressive (especially upon low-income people) by pushing EV’s and heat pumps while electric rates go up, and installing solar panels. The panels are made in China with coal-powered electricity, and require cutting down trees. I thought we needed to save trees to trap carbon?

This whole movement lacks common sense, is hypocritical, contradictory, increases taxes and public spending and removes more public land into conservation, reducing state tax revenue.

To improve the environment look to the third world: they have to burn wood, dung, etc., to cook and heat their homes. Modernization there, through gas pipelines, etc., would bring cleaner air immediately. In fact, Maine could use a pipeline (if New York state would allow it to go through)and we would improve life by not held hostage by oil and electric prices.

The climate group is so driven and frothing at the mouth, but we see diminished results (we are already clean and green). I am convinced they won’t stop until they put all of our land into conservation, solar and wind, destroy reliable power, and until we all have protocols, laws, regulations, taxes, etc., increased until we can’t afford life…(Maybe THAT’S the plan) … which doesn’t sound like “the way life should be”.
