As a former state representative (2010-2018), I served on Maine’s powerful Appropriations Committee; it prioritizes our hard-earned money. From 2019 to 2022 (most recent data), the state expenditures exploded by a staggering $4 billion. Comparably, from 2014-2018, spending only grew by $360 million.
The state has a shortage of experienced legislators in office. We need reasonable leaders who will roll up their sleeves and right-size our bloated budget.
Scarborough resident, married, father of four Don Hamill understands our daily struggles. Hamill’s background in human resources and finance means he will work on solutions to our workforce and housing shortages. In 2018, Don was elected to the Scarborough Town Council. Councilor Hamill knows how to read a budget and balance the books. Imagine having a common-sense senator with useful experience who can do math. This is why I am voting for Don Hamill for Maine Senate.
