As a former Falmouth town councilor and as current chair of the Maine Gun Safety Coalition, I am writing in support of Amy Kuhn’s candidacy to serve a second term as District 111’s representative. Her devotion to public service is extraordinary: she served this last legislative session on both Falmouth’s Town Council (as its chair) and as state representative. We can be proud of her excellent and persuasive judgment and demeanor, and her respectful listening to all her constituents. I write, in particular, however, to praise her advocacy for responsible gun laws in Maine. She cosponsored two important gun safety bills this past legislative session, which have now been enacted into law and will undoubtedly reduce gun deaths in Maine. There is more to do, and we need Amy Kuhn’s presence in Augusta to champion further constitutional, responsible gun legislation that will save more Maine lives.
