Delia Fravert scored in the first minute for Scarborough and Sophia Monfa answered in the second half for host Cheverus as the undefeated Class A South girls’ soccer teams settled for a 1-1 tie Tuesday afternoon in Portland.
Rachel LaSalle assisted on the tying goal for Cheverus (5-0-2). Evelyn Rush made five saves.
Sophia Rinaldi of Scarborough (5-0-2) stopped 11 shots.
DEERING 2, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Anika Gin scored both goals following assists from Elsa Freeman, and the Rams (2-5-2) downed the Red Riots (2-5-1) in Portland.
Gin received a pass from Freeman on the left, dribbled around goalie Maizie Savage and tucked a left-footed shot into the bottom corner for the only first-half goal. In the second half, she took a serve from Freeman at the edge of the center circle and lobbed a shot over keeper Amelia Burton-Fowler.
WESTBROOK 3, PORTLAND 2: Ava Bolden had a goal and an assist, Audrey Doolittle and Kylie Young also scored, and the Blue Blazes (2-5) beat the Bulldogs (0-8) in Westbrook.
Anneliese Collin scored both goals for Portland.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 3, WATERVILLE 2: Scarlett Flint scored twice, and Medomak Valley (8-1) overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit against Waterville (3-5) in Waldoboro.
Grace Townsend put in the other goal for Medomak Valley. Chloe Fox made four saves.
Sadie Williams notched both goals for Waterville. Madison Gervais had an assist and Roselyn Martin made 13 saves.
CAPE ELIZABETH 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Addie Miller and Hailey Gorman scored to lead the Capers (7-0-1) to a win over the Patriots (2-5-1) in Cape Elizabeth.
Heather Campbell and CC Duryee each were credited with an assist.
Isabelle Morelli scored in the final minute for the Patriots.
GREELY 2, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Abby Lennox and Molly Partridge scored for the Rangers (7-0-2) in a win over the Panthers (7-2) at Cumberland.
Del Daniel scored for NYA.
FREEPORT 0, YARMOUTH 0: Marian Pitney of Yarmouth (4-2-3) and Karleigh Costello of Freeport (3-3-1) each made three saves as the teams settled for a scoreless tie in Yarmouth.
WINDHAM 6, BIDDEFORD 0: Six players scored for the Eagles (5-0-1) in a win over the Tigers (1-7) at Windham.
Goals by Emily Talbot and Neve Ledbetter gave Windham a 2-0 halftime lead. Kyla Harvie, Emily Wardwell, Stella Jarvais and Juliana Gagne added second-half goals.
Biddeford keeper Gabby Smith stopped 24 shots.
WELLS 8, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Caitlin Shiels had three goals and two assists as the Warriors (5-3) handled the Hawks (0-8) in Hiram.
Eva Talevi added two goals, Savannah Tardiff and Eloise Ouellette each recorded a goal and an assist, and Hailey Adams also scored for Wells.
THORNTON ACADEMY 3, KENNEBUNK 1: Quincy Thibeault had a goal and an assist, Bri Arsenault and Kayleigh Soucy also scored, and the Trojans (4-1-1) downed the Rams (2-2-4) in Saco.
Thornton also got two assists from Charlotte Belanger.
Teagan Hanson made 20 saves for Kennebunk.
BOYS’ SOCCER
SCARBOROUGH 1, WINDHAM 0: Matt Booth’s cross in overtime deflected off a Windham defender and into the net, giving the Red Storm (6-1-1) a win over the previously undefeated Eagles (7-1), at Scarborough.
It was the first goal allowed this season by Windham, the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine top 10.
Seamus Corry stopped five shots for fifth-ranked Scarborough. Windham’s Lukas Hammond made six saves.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Jacob Colaluca scored both NYA goals, Jordan King had an assist, and the Panthers (6-1-1) topped the Raiders (5-4) in Yarmouth.
Andre DiMolfetta scored for Fryeburg.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 2, OCEANSIDE 1: Andrea Brugnoli drove a low shot from 20 yards for the go-ahead goal with 1:30 remaining, lifting the Eagles (4-3-1) over the Mariners (4-3-1) in Newcastle.
Lincoln opened the scoring late in the first half when a free kick by Pedro Mayans deflected into the net off a defender.
Aidan Willis tied it moments later, finishing a passing combination with Elliott Trott.
WATERVILLE 5, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Gabriel Cedeno recorded a hat trick to lead Waterville (7-1) past visiting Medomak Valley (5-2-2).
Ethan Goodrich added a goal and three assists. Garrett Gendreau got the other goal, Hunter Willets chipped in with an assist and Dustin Bearce made 15 saves.
Dima Cheesman stopped 14 shots for Medomak.
FIELD HOCKEY
LAKE REGION 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Abigail Travis had a goal and two assists, Audrey Philbrook and Mia Letarte also scored, and the Lakers (3-4) defeated the Raiders (5-2) in Naples.
Nicole Watson stopped 14 shots for Lake Region, which avenged a 1-0 loss at Fryeburg on Sept. 11.
Hazel Lewis and Sophia Brown scored for Fryeburg.
CAMDEN HILLS 0, BRUNSWICK 0: Ella Duchette made nine saves for Brunswick (2-4-2), and Abby Strout of Camden Hills (2-5-1) stopped six shots as the teams played to a stalemate in Brunswick.
CAPE ELIZABETH 1, POLAND 0: Clio Cook-Sharp scored three minutes into overtime to lift the Capers (1-5) over the Knights (1-6) in Poland.
Lulu Stoecklein made five saves for the shutout.
YARMOUTH 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 1: Madison Wiles had three goals and an assist to lead the Clippers (7-1) against the Patriots (7-1) in Yarmouth.
Celia Zinman added a goal and two assists, Erica O’Connor notched a goal and an assist, and Maya Nasveschuk also scored for Yarmouth.
Emma Bowden scored for the Patriots.
VOLLEYBALL
WESTBROOK 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 1: Eden Ayers notched 12 aces while going 19 for 24 on serves as the Blue Blazes (7-1) beat the visiting Panthers (0-7) in four sets, 21-25, 25-7, 25-14, 25-11.
MARSHWOOD 3, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Sivan Semo had 17 kills and seven blocks to lead the Hawks (5-3) against the Red Riots (3-5) at South Berwick.
Averi Dudley contributed six aces, Gianna Jones and Riley Phipps each had 15 digs, Nellie Young added 16 kills, and Kylie Folger finished with 35 assists for Marshwood.
GREELY 3, BONNY EAGLE 1: Maddi Croteau had eight kills, three aces, two digs and nine assists as the Rangers (5-4) defeated the Scots (4-3) in Cumberland, 25-11, 13-25, 25-17, 26-24.
Annabelle Talley added nine kills, two digs and an ace, Riley Bonner Combs finished with five kills, six digs and two aces, and Maggie Wilder had three aces and seven digs.
Allison Champagne paced the Scots with 13 assists, three kills and four aces.
FALMOUTH 3, SCARBOROUGH 2: Sofie Asbjornsen has 12 kills and fives aces as the Navigators (3-6) rallied from two sets down to beat the visiting Red Storm (6-3), 17-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-23, 17-15.
Hannah Roche finished with 20 assists, Avery Bakke had 12 digs, and Calla Hehmeyer and Abby Shaw (15 assists) each served three aces for Falmouth.
MONDAY’S BOYS’ SOCCER
KENNEBUNK 1, FALMOUTH 0: Ben Urban scored from a scramble following a corner kick with 50 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give the Rams (5-3-1) a win over the Navigators (7-2) in Kennebunk.
