Liza Flower notched two goals and an assist to help undefeated Freeport cruise to a 4-1 win at York in a Class B South field hockey game Thursday.
Emily Groves and Sophie Bradford each chipped in with a goal for Freeport (7-0), the No. 3 team in the Varsity Maine top 10.
Chloe Ridley was the goal scorer for York (3-4).
Maddie Kryzak stopped four shots for Freeport. York’s Sara Orso made nine saves.
MT. BLUE 9, POLAND 0: Five players scored and seven had assists for the Cougars (4-2) in a victory over the Knights (1-7) in Farmington.
Morgan Hersey paced Mt. Blue with three goals and an assist. Kali Judkins contributed two goals and an assist, and Grace Allen also scored twice.
Avery Tinker and Piper Wojcik added a goal apiece. Ivey Rackliff, Summer Sawyer, Lily Huntley, Bree Griffin and Abbi Donald each recorded an assist.
Poland goalie Isabella Lizotte made 17 saves.
BIDDEFORD 7, WINDHAM 0: Corinne Ramunno produced three goals and Mia Mariello recorded two goals and two assists for the Tigers (7-2) as they easily handled the Eagles (4-2) in Biddeford.
Ayla Lagasse and Lola Laverriere also scored.
Biddeford goalie Mariah Villandry needed just two saves. Olivia McPherson stopped 14 shots for Windham.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
GORHAM 2, FALMOUTH 0: Ashley Connolly scored in the first half and Julia Reed added a second-half goal as the Rams (7-1-1) beat the Navigators (5-2-1) at Gorham.
Gorham keeper Lydia Spear faced only one shot. Emory Westburg made three saves for Falmouth.
KENNEBUNK 3, PORTLAND 0: Anna McCarron opened the scoring in the third minute, starting the Rams (3-3-1) on their way to a win over the Bulldogs (0-9) at Kennebunk.
Ava McCourt added an unassisted goal and Belle Kalil finished with a goal and an assist.
Teagan Hanson stopped four shots for the shutout. Jane Flynn made eight saves for Portland.
SANFORD 5, WESTBROOK 0: Ava Hudson collected two goals and an assist, leading the Spartans (4-2-1) past the Blue Blazes (2-5) at Sanford.
Annie Stimmell also scored twice, Addie Fiandaca scored once, and Bella McCall and Brielle Landry each were credited with an assist.
WELLS 2, MORSE 1: Hailey Marshall scored on a direct kick and Caitlin Shiels also scored as the Warriors (6-3) defeated the Shipbuilders (5-3-1) at Bath.
Saleh Park got Morse’s goal.
POLAND 0, LEAVITT 0: Olivia Rioux made eight saves for Poland (4-4-1) and Hailey Welch of Leavitt (3-5-1) stopped 12 shots as the teams played to a scoreless draw in Turner.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, WAYNFLETE 2: Madi Fecteau, Bri Waterman, Ashley Anderson, Libby Whidden and Hannah Bolduc each scored for the Patriots (3-5-1) in their win over the Flyers (3-4-1) at Gray.
Hailey Carson recorded five saves in net for Gray-New Gloucester.
Naomi Rice scored both Waynflete goals.
MT. ARARAT 8, LEWISTON 1: Julianna Allen and Isiah Godo each connected twice as the Eagles (6-2) erupted for seven second-half goals to pull away from the Blue Devils (1-7) in Topsham.
CeCe Minet, Addison Allen, Katherine Theriault and Elena Willis also scored goals for Mt. Ararat.
Ella Beaudoin was the goal scorer for Lewiston.
SOUTH PORTLAND 5, BONNY EAGLE 0: Marina Bassett converted a penalty kick and finished with two goals to pace the Red Riots (3-5-1) to a win over the Scots (4-2-1) at South Portland.
Charlie Savage, Maci Rauscher and Mayla Costa each chipped in with a goal, while Maizie Savage stopped all three shots she faced.
Keona Ingram made six saves for Bonny Eagle.
THORNTON ACADEMY 5, BIDDEFORD 1: Quincy Thibault struck for two first-half goals, both assisted by Charlotte Belanger, and the Golden Trojans (6-1-1) built a 3-1 halftime edge on their way to a win over the Tigers (1-8) at Saco.
Belanger, Harlow O’Leary and Kaleigh Corriveau also scored for Thornton, which got three saves from Ava Lomax.
Abby Bouffard got the only goal for Biddeford. Tigers keeper Gabby Smith turned aside 19 shots.
BOYS’ SOCCER
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2, WAYNFLETE 1: Logan Inman scored twice in the final six minutes to rally the Patriots (6-2-1) to a win over the Flyers (3-4) in Portland.
Boje Kautz assisted on both Gray-New Gloucester goals and Tristan Cutler made six saves.
The Flyers got a successful first-half penalty kick from Lucas Plumb and four saves from Diego Schair-Catdona.
VOLLEYBALL
FALMOUTH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Olive Clark recorded 14 kills and six aces, Hannah Roche had 21 assists, and the Navigators (5-5) outlasted the Trojans (6-3) in Falmouth, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-10.
Falmouth also got 10 kills and six aces from Sofie Asbjornsen.
