Portland Stage presents its interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen.”
It opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs through Christmas Eve, making this a holiday season event that audience members of any age will love.
With a visually sumptuous set, “The Snow Queen” is a tale of friendship and bravery with some magic mixed in.
Kai and Gerda are lifelong best friends, but things hit a huge snag when a shard of magic mirror lodges itself in Kai’s eye, rendering him unable to see anything good in the world. When he winds up spellbound by the Snow Queen, it’s up to Gerda to rescue her friend.
Tickets range from $25 to $65 and are available at portlandstage.org.
