PortTIX now has a storefront on Congress Street.
The local box office moved just around the corner from its former location in the lobby of Merrill Auditorium. Its new address is 400 Congress St. Suite A in Portland. Hours and methods of operations will be unchanged.

The move reflects a growing group of partners and a desire to be more accessible to the general public.
“Our staff has a strong connection with the arts, and this allows us to serve our customers and partners in a really unique way, with creativity and authenticity,” Liz Currier, PortTIX co-director and operations manager, said in a news release about the move. “We’re ready to find new ways to get more involved with our community from our new home on Congress Street.”
PortTIX started in 1997 and is owned by the Portland Symphony Orchestra and Portland Ovations. It is still the official ticket vendor for Merrill Auditorium, which is owned by the city of Portland and also houses the Kotzschmar Organ. The box office is the official ticketing partner for a growing number of organizations – including Portland Ballet since 2021, Portland Conservatory of Music since 2023, and Portland Chamber Music Festival and North Star Baroque this year. In fiscal year 2024, the box office sold more than 175,000 tickets and processed over $10 million in transactions.
“The services PortTIX provides are critical infrastructure for the arts in Portland, which is the centerpiece of our regional creative economy,” said Andy Downs, the city’s public assembly facilities director. “Run by two nonprofit organizations and with a close working relationship with the city, PortTIX is a unique small business and one of the things that makes the local arts ecosystem so vibrant. The fact that they’re expanding into their own space is a testament to the great job they do, and having earned the trust of local audiences for the past 27 years.”
Ticket sales will be available in person at the new box office location and via phone Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit porttix.com or call 207-842-0800.
