Following an hourslong manhunt, state police apprehended an Alfred man Thursday evening who had crashed a stolen truck in Casco earlier in the day, authorities said.
Police found Garrett Littlefield, 33, in Bridgton before 7:30 p.m., Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in an updated release. Moss said Littlefield was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, after which he was to be sent to the Cumberland County Jail.
“MSP is currently gathering and verifying all of the information involved in this case and will release a formal statement tomorrow afternoon,” Moss said in the release, which was sent out at about 7:25 p.m.
Earlier Thursday, Moss said Littlefield had multiple felony warrants for his arrest and had “been eluding police all day.” She could not specify the felonies he is accused of committing.
Police say he crashed a blue 2014 Ford F-150 off Route 121 near Hemlock Lane, close to the Raymond town line.
