The Swine & Stein Festival in downtown Gardiner. Joe Phelan/Kennebec Journal
It’s almost time to eat, drink and be very merry in Gardiner. The annual Swine & Stein Brewfest takes over the downtown Saturday. With live music, bevvies from 14 breweries, wineries and distilleries, and fun events like the frozen T-shirt race, this is a sure bet for a heck of a good time. Other weekend options include ColoniALE at the Tate House Museum in Portland, the play “Molly Sweeney” at the Saco River Theatre and the Harvest Chill Fall Festival in Arundel.

Have you turned on your heat yet, or are you holding out for a few more weeks? Point being, fall certainly is here, and this is no time to sit around waiting for the ground to freeze. Get out there, people! There are corn mazes to get lost in, flannel shirts to try on, pumpkins to pick and several other autumnal outings waiting for you.

The moment you wake up, before you put on your makeup, you might want to buy a little ticket to the musical version of “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” in its world premiere run at the Ogunquit Playhouse, through Oct. 27. The delightful, comedic show is packed with hit songs and laughs. This weekend, there are two performances on Friday and Saturday, and a Sunday afternoon matinee.
