Lucy Johnson netted two goals and set up another as Cheverus extended its winning streak to 30 games with a 5-0 win over Massabesic in a Class A South field hockey game Saturday in Portland.

Joey Pompeo, Sydney Brunelle and Zoey Radford also scored and Ellie Skolnekovich made three saves for Cheverus, the unanimous No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine top 10.

Lydia Suhy of Massabesic stopped 16 shots.

YARMOUTH 6, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Five different players scored goals as the Clippers (11-1) beat the Red Eddies (4-7) in Yarmouth.

Yarmouth grabbed the lead when Erica O’Connor scored 19 seconds into the second quarter. Madison Wiles and Madeline Nieter added goals to make it 3-0 at halftime.

Maya Nasveschuk, O’Connor and Zoe Sammon scored in the second half.

The Red Eddies got 14 saves from Ruby Harris.

BIDDEFORD 5, SANFORD 2: Ayla Lagasse figured in all five Biddeford goals, scoring twice and setting up three others, as the Tigers (9-2) defeated the Spartans (6-3) in Biddeford.

Mia Mariello added two goals and an assist and Hannah Loranger also scored for Biddeford, which led 4-0 at halftime. Tigers goalie Megan Sheppard made 15 saves.

Zoey McCann and Audrey Payeur scored for Sanford.

MT. ARARAT 1, OXFORD HILLS 0: Krystah Coen’s unassisted goal with 5:31 left in the first overtime lifted the Eagles (9-2) to a victory over the Vikings (1-9) in Topsham.

Laila Adams had five saves for Mt. Ararat, while Kya Smith of Oxford Hills made eight saves.

WINDHAM 4, SOUTH PORTLAND/WESTBROOK 1: Abby Trainor scored twice off penalty corners, and Zoe Dries also found the net twice for the Eagles (7-3) in a with over South Portland/Westbrook (4-7-1) at South Portland.

The Red Riots got a first-quarter goal from Jane Phillips, assisted by Olivia Inosencio.

GORHAM 2, NOBLE 1: Abby Chamberlin scored the tying goal off a penalty corner in the third quarter and Reece Leclerc got the winner in the fourth as the Rams (7-4) rallied past the Knights (4-7) in North Berwick.

Annabelle Collier assisted on both Gorham goals.

Noble’s Lila Fiel opened the scoring in the first quarter, assisted by Mia Smith

Noble goalie Lauren Merchant finished with 15 saves. Madison Tibbals of Gorham stopped three shots.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

BONNY EAGLE 3, PORTLAND 0: The Scots (5-5-1) struck for three goals in the first half – two by Grace Estes and one by Cayden Lauziere – and struck out the Bulldogs (1-10) in Portland.

WINDHAM 2, SANFORD 0: Kyla Harvie converted a Stella Jarvais corner kick in the first half, and Jarvais added an unassisted goal in the second half as the Eagles (9-1-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season, beating the Spartans (6-4-1) in Windham.

Libby Hartwell earned the shutout, making three saves. Sanford’s Sophia Olivo stopped 13 shots.

POLAND 4, OAK HILL 3: The Knights (5-6-1) got goals from Arianna Gammon, Graceyn Camire, Emma Culleton and Addison Gravel in a win over the Raiders (3-7-1) at Wales.

Sydney Wood, Eliana Smith and Audrey Custer scored for Oak Hill.

BOYS’ SOCCER

POLAND 1, OAK HILL 0: Oliver Olson’s second-half goal made the difference as the Knights (5-7) beat the Raiders (4-8) in Poland.

Eliot Rioux made five saves for Poland, while Wyatt Blier of Oak Hill had six saves.

FRIDAY’S FOOTBALL

PORTLAND 35, BANGOR 7: Cordell Jones scored three touchdowns in the first half, leading the Bulldogs (5-1) past the Rams (1-5) in Bangor.

Jones bulled into end zone twice in the first quarter from the Wildcat formation, from 1 and 9 yards. He set up the first TD with a 39-yard run, and a botched handoff by Bangor led to the second touchdown.

Bangor’s quarterback Kyle Johnson answered with a 6-yard TD run in the second quarter. But Jones then turned a screen pass from Louis Thurston into a 41-yard touchdown that gave Portland a 21-7 halftime lead.

Thurston ripped off a 48-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Aidan McGowan scored from the 1 in the fourth.

CAPE ELIZABETH 21, LEAVITT 14: Brady Inman ran 12 yards for the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter, lifting the Capers (3-3) over the Hornets (2-4) in Cape Elizabeth.

Cape never trailed, though Leavitt twice erased seven-point deficits.

The Capers grabbed the lead on a 45-yard run by Eli Halter in the first quarter.

Leavitt tied it in the second quarter when Keegan Reny scored from the 1. Cape answered with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Inman to Aidan Connolly with just over a minute remaining in the first half, but Leavitt then drove the length of the field, capped by Brock Poulin’s 6-yard run as time expired.

BONNY EAGLE 70, SCARBOROUGH 14: Connor Johnson scored five touchdowns, including an 89-yard kickoff return, as the Scots (4-2) rolled past the Red Storm (1-5) in Scarborough.

Johnson rushed for 100 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, and caught two passes for 79 yards, with one touchdown.

Bonny Eagle quarterback Colin Moran was 6 of 7 passing for 121 yards. He also had a 46-yard touchdown run.

CJ Cooper added a 41-yard TD run during a 34-point second quarter. Davonte Ephron, Ben Augustino and Lucas Klehn each had a long touchdown run in the second half. Ephron gained 139 yards on four carries.

Scarborough’s Logan O’Keefe was 10 of 19 passing for 101 yards, with a 41-yard TD pass to Kingston Griffiths. O’Keefe also scored the game’s first points on a 2-yard run.

KENNEBUNK 42, CHEVERUS 10: Sam Haley passed for four touchdowns as the Rams (6-0) extended their winning streak to 10 games by defeating the Stags (2-4) in Kennebunk.

Haley hooked up with Max Andrews for two TDs, from 8 and 45 yards. Jaiden Homa caught a 30-yard scoring pass and Austin West had a 28-yard touchdown reception.

Brady Stone and Maddox Ralls each added a TD run for the Rams, who are ranked No. 4 in the Varsity Maine top 10.

Matt Baker scored on a 3-yard run for Cheverus, and Devin Kelly kicked a 29-yard field goal.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, SACOPEE VALLEY 14: Wes Gallant accounted for four touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving and one passing – as the Seagulls (6-0) eased past the Hawks (4-2) in Hiram.

Gallant had TD runs of 54 and 5 yards, then threw a 52-yard pass to Trot Moody. He capped his big first half with a 70-yard reception from Moody as Old Orchard built a 40-0 lead.

Riley Provencher scored two touchdowns – a 10-yard pass from Moody and a 60-yard run. The Seagulls’ final TD was a 2-yard run by Daniel Cashman.

Sacopee avoided a shutout by scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter – Ayden Fisher’s 10-yard run and a 5-yard pass from Tyler Easterbrooks to Maxwell Tripp.

BIDDEFORD 4, BONNY EAGLE 2: Bencao Garcia scored twice to pace the Tigers (7-5) to a win over the Scots (1-11) in Standish.

Alexandre Keto scored for Biddeford, and the Tigers were aided by an own goal.

TRAIP ACADEMY 2, WAYNFLETE 0: Avery Bouffard scored in the first half and Keira Alessi added a second-half goal as the Rangers (9-1-1) defeated the Flyers (4-6-1) in Kittery.

Bouffard put in a direct kick from 25 yards in the 26th minute. Alessi drove a shot past Waynflete keeper Rachel Yordon (five saves) in the 62nd.

Lily Stuart stopped seven shots for Traip.

LAKE REGION 5, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Abigail Travis recorded a hat trick in the first half, leading the Lakers (4-6) over the Falcons (2-8) in Naples.
