The wait for Damnationland is almost over! Head to the State Theatre on Friday for the annual film festival that features 14 Maine-made horror and dark short fiction films. We’ve got the details, along with an interview with Morgan Becker, part of the Damnationland team.

Tom Petty fans have two chances to see the documentary “Heartbreakers Beach Party.” Screenings are Thursday and Sunday at The Nick in Portland. This is the first time the film, made in 1983 and featuring extensive interviews and concert footage, has been show in theaters.

Portland musician Genevieve Stokes is celebrating the release of her debut full-length album “With a Lightning Strike” with a big show on Saturday at Portland House of Music. The show starts at 8 p.m. with an opening set from Lily Kershaw.
