Brian Franks
Make-A-Wish Maine has selected Brian Franks as its new president and CEO. Franks previously was the director of strategic planning and process at L.L.Bean. He received a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and master’s degrees in business administration and management information systems from Boston University.

Claudia Meyer-Maaseidvaag
Claudia Meyer-Maaseidvaag is the new shelter manager for the Homeless Animal Rescue Team, or HART, of Maine. She was previously the “manager of lifesaving” at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and has worked or volunteered at Thoroughbred Aftercare Retirement, Forgotten Cats and Stray Cat Blues. She has a bachelor’s degree in public policy and nonprofit management from the University of Delaware.

Greer Pearce
Greer Pearce has joined the Portland advertising agency Words From The Woods as its chief strategy officer. Pearce has over 15 years of marketing experience. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Colorado College.

Michelle Haslinger
Northern Light Mercy Hospital has hired Dr. Michelle Haslinger as a breast surgical oncologist. Haslinger was previously the director of oncoplastic surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and an instructor of surgery at Harvard Medical School. She received her medical degree from the University at Buffalo in New York.

Katherine Pushee
Andwell Health Partners has hired Katherine Pushee as the new director of hospice services. Pushee previously was director of operations for Beacon Hospice in Augusta. She has a master’s degree in health care administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Michael Smith
Michael Smith has been hired as a senior wealth advisor at Wilmington Trust’s Portland office. Smith has worked in wealth management for over 30 years, including at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Merrill Lynch International Bank. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Hartford and a master’s degree in international relations from American University.

Richard “Sandy” Cox Jr.
Richard “Sandy” Cox Jr. was named Realtor of the Year by the Maine Association of Realtors. Cox works at the New England Real Estate Company in Camden and has been a Realtor since 2003. He has served on the boards of directors for the association and Maine Listings as well as several Midcoast organizations.
