1% Back to ME: Making an Impact Across Maine

Our 1% Back to Maine initiative is our way of giving back to the Maine communities that we live and work in. For every home sold, 1% of the Portside commission generated goes directly toward funding local organizations driving change in education, health and social services. Our goal is simple: to support nonprofits working to make a better tomorrow for Maine residents and foster sustainable growth for our state.

Over the years, we’ve seen incredible support from our clients, and together we have raised over $1 million for Maine’s communities. These funds have been distributed to various organizations focused on everything from supporting a summer bereavement camp for children who are survivors of a loved one’s suicide to funding an outdoor recreation area, including a playground, to serve children and parents living at an emergency shelter for families.

A Legacy of Giving: Portside Foundation 501(c)3

Since our foundation launched, Portside has committed itself to strengthening Maine through impactful philanthropy. The Portside Foundation has not only raised over $1 million, but it has also directly funded projects that address pressing issues across the state. Our grants have supported many Maine local nonprofits, from education and youth programs to food security and healthcare initiatives, making a small but important impact on countless lives and inspiring hope for a brighter future.

We typically highlight market data during open house weekend, but this year, we’re excited to share some of the incredible impact statistics from Portside’s charitable giving:

At our Giving Tuesday Event on Dec. 3, we welcome the public to celebrate the spirit of giving with us at Goodfire Brewery in Freeport. We will be honoring past Portside Foundation beneficiaries, and you can learn more about how your support has fueled local projects. To make the evening more impactful, 10%of the proceeds from Goodfire Brewery and an additional 10% from Portside will be donated to further our mission of community giving.
