I strongly support Robert O’Brien as Portland city councilor for District 2.
As a member of the 2022 Charter Commission, he opposed giving the School Board carte blanche to adopt its budget without review by the City Council. He’s an expert on housing policy, and as long-time member and chair of the Historic Preservation Board, will balance the need to increase our housing supply with the preservation of our neighborhoods.
He’s focused on controlling tax increases while planning to adapt to sea level rise and climate change. He makes sense to me, and will be a great councilor for District 2.
