I was born and raised in Portland, but now entering my senior year of college, I wonder if I’ll ever afford to move back to my beloved hometown. Young Mainers like myself are being pushed out of Portland, and we must vote for council candidates equipped to tackle the housing crisis.
This is why I invite all young Portlanders to join me in ranking Ben Grant first for City Council. Grant’s “all in” approach to housing is exactly what Portland needs. We need a council that will fight for public housing, affordable housing, housing-first developments and every other unit we can build – a council that says “yes, and” to thousands of new homes. I trust Ben Grant to tackle the housing crisis with insight, pragmatism and the urgency it poses to everyone priced out of town, and I will be proud to rank him first on my ballot in November.
