Connor Skillin scored two goals, including the winner with 11:31 remaining as top-seeded Greely edged fourth-seeded Cape Elizabeth in a Class B South boys’ soccer semifinal Saturday in Cumberland.

Skillin headed in a curling serve from Bez Mendelsohn from outside the penalty area.

The Rangers (15-0-1) built a 2-0 lead in the first half. Skillin headed a long serve from Cade Potts to Owen Partridge who finished it with a header at 11:04. Skillin then headed a cross from Owen Piesik in the 22nd minute.

Cape Elizabeth (9-6-1) battled back to tie it. Cam Leonhirth headed in a corner kick by Tully Haydar in the 28th minute, and Harrison Converse kicked in a failed clear 5½ minutes later.

Greely will play for the regional title at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fryeburg Academy against second-seeded Yarmouth, the four-time defending state champion.

SCARBOROUGH 2, FALMOUTH 1: Shamus Corry stopped a penalty kick with four-tenths of a second remaining to preserve a Class A South semifinal win for the third-seeded Red Storm (13-1-1) against the second-seeded Navigators (12-3-1) in Falmouth.

Falmouth’s Evan Mayo was awarded the penalty kick when he drew excessive contact from Scarborough’s defenders after a desperation chip by Simon Wissink from 35 yards.

Mayo sent a low shot to right side of the goal, but Corry smothered it while diving to his left.

EJ Herrick scored the winning goal when he headed in a 30-yard free kick by Denver Bachman in the 56th minute.

Scarborough got the opening goal in the 24th minute. Bachman headed Carter Blanche’s long throw-in behind Falmouth’s back line to an open area to the right side of the goal, and Khalil Ghosheh finished it.

Falmouth tied it 11:26 into the second half, as Dan Stoicov’s long cross from the sideline was batted down in front of the goal by Corry and Wyatt Carlson drove it home.

HALL-DALE 4, WAYNFLETE 2: Jaxon Olsen scored twice as the No. 1 Bulldogs (14-2) beat the fifth-seeded Flyers (7-8-1) in a Class C South semifinal in Farmingdale.

Hall-Dale also got goals from Karter Eldridge and Keegan Cary.

Lucas Plumb scored both Waynflete goals.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

CAPE ELIZABETH 2, FREEPORT 1: Addie Miller’s goal in overtime lifted the second-seeded Capers (12-1-3) over the third-seeded Falcons (10-4-2) in a Class B South semifinal at Cape Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Hooper served a high free kick from 35 yards that was headed by a Freeport defender in front of the goal, and Miller footed the ball into the net.

Noelle Mallory headed a ball over Freeport keeper Karleigh Costello with 14:14 left in regulation for a 1-0 lead.

Freeport answered with exactly nine minutes remaining when Mia Levesque took a through ball from Lucy Riggs and sent a left-footed strike past Cape Elizabeth keeper Kelsey Law, who got a foot on the shot but couldn’t keep the ball from trickling into the net.

GREELY 1, YARMOUTH 0: Lily Pierce scored with 28 minutes left and the top-seeded Rangers (12-0-4) beat the No. 5 Clippers (7-5-4) in a Class B South semifinal at Cumberland.

Greely will face second-seeded Cape Elizabeth in the regional final at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fryeburg Academy.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4, HALL-DALE 3: The third-seeded Panthers (13-3) won a penalty kick tiebreaker to beat the No. 2 Bulldogs (11-1-4) in a Class C South semifinal in Farmingdale.

Ellie Seely, Natasha Godfrey and Lyla Casey scored in regulation for NYA.

Marie Benoit led Hall-Dale with two goals and an assist. Sophia Murch was the other goal scorer.

FREEPORT 2, YORK 1: Liza Flower knocked home the winner with 11:35 remaining as the top-seeded Falcons (16-0) beat the fourth-seeded Wildcats in a Class B South semifinal at Freeport.

Flower opened the scoring 2:45 into the contest. Nya Avery answered for York with 4:00 to play in the first quarter.

York goalie Sara Capon stopped nine shots, while Freeport’’s Maddie Kryzak recording six saves.

Lizalyn Boudreau assisted on the winning goal.

YARMOUTH 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/NYA 0: Celia Zinman and Sally McGrath scored less than a minute apart early in the second quarter, starting the second-seeded Clippers (15-1) on their way to a Class B South semifinal win over the No. 3 Patriots (13-3) in Yarmouth.

Madison Wiles added to the lead late in the third, and Maya Nasveschuck converted a penalty shot in the fourth as Yarmouth advanced to a regional final rematch against Freeport.

CHEVERUS 6, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Lucy Johnson opened the scoring just 1:30 into the contest, Zoey Radford added three goals, and the top-seeded Stags (16-0) easily got past the fifth-seeded Golden Trojans (8-5-1) in a Class A South semifinal at Portland.

Lillian Magda and Jaylee Radford also scored as the defending state champions extended their winning streak to 34 games.
