The Maine Mariners scored three times in the third period to beat the Reading Royals, 5-3, on Sunday afternoon at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

Maine to a 2-1 lead in the first period on goals by Patrick Guay and Christian Berger. Brooklyn Kalmikov scored twice in the third and Jacob Hudson added an empty netter.

Lou-Felix Denis scored in the second, while Tyler Gratton and Powell Connor each scored in the third for Reading.

Ryan Bischel had 25 saves for Maine, while Vinnie Purpura stopped 27 shots for Reading.
