Cape Elizabeth voters elected Elizabeth Scifres, John Sahrbeck and Andrew Swayze to the Town Council in a six-way race for three seats.

Sahrbeck

Scifres received 3,742 votes; Sahrbeck received 3,731; Swayze received 3,181; David Hughes received 2,149; David Andrews received 2,128; and Council Chair Tim Reiniger, the only incumbent in the race, received 1,961 votes.

Meanwhile, Christopher Boniakowski, Peter Joy Engel and Lee Schroeder were elected to the three open seats on the school board with no challengers.

Swayze

Housing and maintaining the town’s rural character were some of the challenges candidates have identified for the town in the years to come, as well as finding a solution to the town’s aging school buildings.
