JD Davison finished with 31 points, 12 eights and eight rebounds, but the Maine Celtics lost their NBA G League season opener to the Long Island Nets, 129-123 on Friday night in Uniondale, New York.
Boston Celtics first-round pick Baylor Scheierman also scored 31 points for Maine. He added seven rebounds and seven assists. Dmytro Skapintsev had 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Ron Harper Jr. added 18 points.
Amari Bailey scored 23 points and A.J. Lawson 21 for Long Island. Patrick Gardner added 10 points and 14 rebounds.
