A man was arrested in Casco Thursday morning for allegedly stabbing his landlord in the leg and causing serious injury.

Abdul Hamed Feroze, 40, faces one charge of elevated aggravated assault, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Feroze was one of two men at a property in Casco where deputies responded to a fight outside a home. During the fight, Feroze allegedly pulled an “edged weapon” from his waistband and stabbed a 42-year-old man, whom deputies are only identifying as Feroze’s landlord.

Officers said they used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. The victim is being treated at a hospital in Bridgton and is expected to survive his injuries.

Feroze was being held at the Cumberland County Jail. The sheriff’s office said bail has yet to be set.
