As they do every March, the Red Sox cleaned up some business Friday by announcing one-year contract agreements with 23 players who are not yet eligible for arbitration.

Boston agreed to pre-arbitration deals with nearly two dozen players, including Wilyer Abreu, Triston Casas, David Hamilton, Justin Slaten and Connor Wong, according to a team announcement. All 23 players were already under contract for 2025 but didn’t have their salaries set. Because each player has between zero and three years of service time, they are subject to a limited scale of salaries with the major league minimum being set at $760,000. The salaries are scaled up based on service time.

Abreu ($780,000), Casas ($774,000), Hamilton ($780,000), Slaten ($776,000) and Wong ($790,000) are some of the players who received more than the major league minimum, multiple sources said. Notably, right-hander Cooper Criswell received the largest salary of the group at $1 million. Criswell is a unique case because after being non-tendered by the Rays last winter, he became a free agent and the Red Sox guaranteed him $1 million for 2024. That deal guaranteed Boston control over the righty long past last season but didn’t lock in salaries of previous years. The sides agreed to the same salary for 2025.

Also agreeing to terms were Brennan Bernardino, Richard Fitts, Romy Gonzalez, Vaughn Grissom, Luis Guerrero, Zack Kelly, Chris Murphy, Carlos Narváez, Zach Penrod, Quinn Priester, Blake Sabol, Nick Sogard, Greg Weissert, Josh Winckowski and three players (Hunter Dobbins, Jhostynxon Garcia and Luis Perales) who have not yet made their major league debuts. All 40 members of the club’s 40-man roster are now under contract.

Friday’s agreements do not preclude the Red Sox from discussing long-term extensions with any of their young players, though sources indicated earlier in the week that there hasn’t been much traction on deals with many of them.
