One of the five people in a deadly Portland house fire last week remains in critical condition, the state Department of Public Safety said.
One person died in the fire at 11 Olympia St. around 1 a.m. Thursday, and four others were taken to the hospital while firefighters battled the intense blaze for three hours. The five adults were inside the single-family home, which was badly damaged and charred later that morning.
Though the fire marshal’s office has not released the names of the victims, Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss confirmed Monday that two were released from the hospital Thursday and another was released Friday, while one remains in critical condition.
Moss said the fire marshal’s office won’t release any more information until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concludes its investigation. She said the office is still working to identify the deceased victim.
