Tomaso’s Pizza and Burger Bar launched Tuesday on Wharf Street in the Old Port in the former space of The Rathskeller.
A social media post announcing the opening of the venue noted that it is a sister restaurant to Tomaso’s Canteen at 18 Hampshire St., also in Old Port.
“There are a lot of similarities and a lot of different stuff too,” the post stated in part. “At our new location, we will do our best to live up to the Original Tomaso’s reputation of great food and drinks at a reasonable price and a positive vibe.”
The owners could not be immediately reached for comment or details on the new venue.
A menu posted online showed a selection of salads ($10); entrees like fish tacos and fish and chips ($18-$22); sandwiches like Chicken Bacon Ranch, smash burgers and red snapper hot dogs ($12-$19); pizzas (starting at $10 for cheese) and chicken wings ($17), along with a variety of draft beers.
The post notes that Tomaso’s Pizza and Burger Bar is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
