It’s pretty sad when the president of a free country is betraying Ukraine, a country fighting for freedom. The president is defending a country that is an enemy of freedom, as seen in the imprisonment and killing of its political opponents and desire to expand its territory. The president is also betraying our European allies, who are living much closer to the Russian threat.
I’ve also watched testimony from police and security personnel who were at the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. After the president released all the rioters, some said it was the ultimate betrayal, especially where some had come close to being killed.
Too bad we don’t have a caring person as president, but only one who gets his jollies from hurting and betraying people.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
