‘The Addams Family’
7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle St., Portland, $55-$125. porttix.com.
Catch the Broadway national tour of a musical comedy that packs a hilarious, morbid punch. “The Addams Family” was born from a comic book turned ’60s TV show that introduced the world to Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Morticia, Gomez, and Lurch. Chaos ensues when the Addams crew has another family over for dinner. Truth serum, a pet giant squid and other wackiness comes into play, along with musical numbers like “One Normal Night,” “Where Did We Go Wrong” and “Crazier Than You.” Audience members are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite characters.

Gilbert will sing as a member of Connecticut-based Pink Floyd tribute act Floydian Trip on Saturday. The Waterville Opera House is notable because Gilbert sang on its stage during dance recitals as a child. Floydian Trip’s set will focus on the 5oth anniversary of Pink Floyd’s much celebrated “Wish You Were Here.” The album only has five songs on it, but they’re all legendary and include “Have a Cigar,” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and the exquisite title track. Floydian Trip will also play other songs from the band’s storied discography.
