Award-winning writer and comedian John Mulaney is coming to the Cross Insurance Arena this summer — and he’s bringing his friends.
Special guests and fellow comedians Fred Armisen, Mike Birbiglia and Nick Kroll will join Mulaney for the Aug. 9 show, which begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m., but fans can order tickets a day early with the presale code “LAUGH.” The presale begins Thursday at 10 a.m. and lasts until 11:59 p.m.
Mulaney, who has released five stand-up comedy specials and whose credits include “Saturday Night Live” and “Oh, Hello on Broadway,” has been touring for more than a decade.
Mulaney’s two latest specials, “Kid Gorgeous at Radio City” and “Baby J,” each won the Emmy for outstanding writing for a variety special in 2018 and 2023, respectively.
His latest project is a live variety talk show on Netflix called “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney,” which premiered this month.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
