Alison Coffin

BRUNSWICK – Alison Coffin, 73, of Brunswick. Maine, passed away quietly, among family and friends, at Midcoast Hospital after a brief Illness. She was the daughter of Robert P.T. Coffin Jr. of Brunswick and June Miller Coffin of Kennebunkport.

Alison will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to family and friends and her pride in her Maine roots and ancestry. She was a financial genius and managed the affairs of anyone who needed support.

Alison had all her own tools and could fix anything. She performed regular, invaluable maintenance on her mother’s house. She was very creative and insisted on homemade gifts: greeting cards, carved birds, handknit sweaters and embroidered pillows which often featured one black sheep. Her nieces remember nature walks to gather materials for wall hangings, mobiles and Christmas wreathes.

More recently Alison took up art classes at People Plus in Brunswick, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and produced beautiful watercolor landscapes and ocean scenes.

Alison was also musically inclined. In her youth she played the organ in church and throughout her life and often belted out two-part harmonies with her sister, Suzie, in the family pew and also spontaneously in the kitchen while doing the holiday washing up.

Friends appreciated Alison’s wicked sense of humor which often popped up unexpectedly. During chemotherapy she drew eyes on the back of her head so her co-workers knew she was watching them!

Alison is survived by her two brothers Geoffrey of Intervale, NH, Nathaniel of Brunswick, ME and sister Suzanne of Haverhill, Mass. She also leaves nieces Emily and Kate, her nephew Tristram; great niece Charlotte and three great nephews William, Samuel and Henry.

A celebration of life will be held, in the summer, 2026. Memories and condolences can be shared at http://www.brackettfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in Alison’s memory to:
