Editor,

Like many businesses that operate on our lakes, the success of my business, Sebago Dock Company, depends on having consistent waterfront ordinances, business-friendly state laws, and reasonable environmental regulations. That’s why I’m writing to support Candidate Tom Bossie, who is running for State Representative in November. I’ve known Tom for about 12 years, so I know he will work hard in Augusta to make sure that waterfront landowners and small businesses are supported by fair laws and proactive environmental policies.

Recently, when I was talking with Tom about issues facing my business, he got me in touch with the Chairperson of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. I was impressed that Tom took the time and concern to do this. It showed me he shares my concerns for the health of our lakes, and also proved his willingness to work hard to support, promote and expand small businesses like mine.

The invasion of milfoil is a major concern for those of us who live or work on the water. Tom is already working on new legislation to help in the fight to eradicate milfoil, and that’s the kind of action we can expect from him as our State Representative. He is a hardworking, educated and informed, native Mainer who understands and cares about the issues that impact this area. More importantly, he has the energy, passion and influence to put those assets to work for us in Augusta. I want to encourage the business owners and residents of Casco, Naples and Poland to vote for Tom Bossie for State Rep. this November.
