Week two of the 2006 season was a wet and rainy one, with six games being played in foul weather and four games being postponed.

Westbrook Kiwanis remains the only undefeated team in the league. In their only game of the week, Kiwanis defeated the Lions by a score of 12 to 2. Kiwanis continued with their torrid hitting and run scoring as they have averaged over twelve runs per game this year. In addition, they have held their opponents to an average of only three runs per game with strong pitching and solid defense. Joe Dvilinsky, Jake Limanni and Zack Bean have all pitched well for Kiwanis.

Right behind Kiwanis are Ticket Unlimited and the Eagles who are both 5-1 after week two. Tickets Unlimited dodged a bullet on Monday against Prompto pulling out a 5-4 victory. Tickets was down 4-2 in the bottom of the 5th inning and scored 3 runs without a hit to take the lead for good. Jeremiah Steele scored the winning run for Tickets with great hustle on the bases. Kyle Schumacher pitched great for Prompto keeping the batters off balance for three innings. Mike Pena pitched three strong innings for Tickets to pick up the win.

On Wednesday Sappi and Tickets dodged the rain drops to get in their game. Tickets came away with a 20-3 victory, breaking out of a 2 game hitting slump. It was a well balanced offensive attack by tickets with many players with multiple hits. Mike Pena led the way for Tickets with three hits. Brandon Steele pitched great for three innings for Tickets, striking out five batters. Keenan Lowe and Kaleb Kent had nice hits for Sappi.

The Eagles, who are currently sporting the longest winning streak of the year with five straight, won a pitches dual against Sappi by a score of 2-1. Paul Patrotti and Adam Begos combined for a two hitter and held Sappi scoreless until the last inning. Trevor Bates changed all that with a tape-measure home run over the safety net in center field. The ball landed in the middle of the girls softball field, but fortunately, no one was hurt. Jim Beahm, Bates and Keenan Lowe pitched well for Sappi in the tough luck loss. At this point, Bates has yet to give up a hit or a run this season in 11 innings.

In their second game of the week, the Eagles again relied on strong pitching to defeat Prompto 14 to 1. Joe Quinlan, Cale Bollig and Matt Moody combined for a one hitter with Cody Champagne breaking the no-hitter with two outs in the last inning. Quinlan, Bollig, Moody, Paul Patrotti, Adam Begos, Magnes Lewis and Ethan Nash were repeat hitter for the Eagles.

Phoenix Welding won easily over the young Dairy Queen team with an all around team effort. Phoenix is also having a great year at 4-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Kiwanis on opening day. They will have their chance to turn the tables on Kiwanis this Wednesday evening in what appears to be a very exciting week of baseball. (Weather permitting of course.)
