On 5/1/2005 at 12:16 AM Officers of the South Portland Police Department responded to 41 Boysenberry Dr., for a report of a group of individuals being loud, in the driveway. When the officers arrived they encountered a 17-year-old male who stated that he had been the victim of an assault, just prior to the officer’s arrival. This subject indicated that he had been struck, in the head, multiple times by a subject wielding a baseball bat. He was transported, by S.P.F.D. Rescue, to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. The victim was able to provide officers with the identity of his attacker, due to previous contact between the two.
Investigation has confirmed the identity of the attacker as Jonathan Hebert 19-years-of-age, a resident of South Portland. The Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office has now reviewed the case and a warrant charging Aggravated Assault, class B, has been issued. This warrant authorizes extradition Nation-wide. Anyone who may have information concerning Hebert’s whereabouts should contact the S.P.P.D. at 799-5511.
