CEO hours

Pay taxes online
The town of Durham, through a partnership with Androscoggin Bank, now offers taxpayers the opportunity to pay their property taxes online from home, work, or any other convenient location, using e-checks, credit or debit cards.
E-checks/ACH (automated clearing house)/checking account – Residents will need to provide their account number and the bank’s routing number to pay by this method. A check image is available during the payment process to assist in locating this information. There will be a $1 processing fee assessed.
Credit/debit cards: The town accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards. There will be a 2.95 percent processing fee assessed per transaction with a minimum charge of $1.95 for credit cards. All Visa debit card transactions are $3.95. A card image is available during the payment process to assist in locating card information. To use this service go to the Durham website and click on Pay Taxes (at top of page in quick links) or under Online Services click Pay Real Estate Taxes. The resident’s account number from the tax bill will be needed.
Giving Tree deadline
Durham Giving Tree gift tags are due on or before Dec. 17 to the Durham Town Office.
Special thanks have been given for these Giving Tree project donations: Acacia Masonic Lodge donation of $500 from a bean supper fundraiser, the Boy Scout troop donation of $964.80 from a bottle drive and the Durham Community School for doing the “Joy Of Sharing.” Thanks have also been given to all who took Giving Tree tags and the people at the Town Office for donating the Christmas tree for the tags.
Christmas services at First Congregational
First Congregational Church of Durham, 773 Royalsborough Road, will hold a Christmas service on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m., and a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m.
Friends Christmas services
Friends Meeting, 532 Quakermeeting House Road, has scheduled a Christmas service on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m., and a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m.
Christmas at Shiloh Chapel
Shiloh Chapel, 39 Beluah Lane, off Shiloh Road, will hold a Christmas music program on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m., followed by a potluck luncheon and gifts for all the children; and a Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m., with a candlelight Christmas carol sing.
Tedd Fish concert Jan. 4
A Celebrate Hope concert with Tedd Fish will be held Sunday, Jan. 4, at 9 a.m., at North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road. Fish’s music ministry extends over many years as a speaker, pastor and concert artist. Fish is based in Yarmouth.
AMVETS members

Rent Eureka Center
The Durham Eureka Community Center is available for rent. The maximum amount of people the hall holds for an event is 50. Contact Nancy Decker at 751-1323 or the Town Office at 353-2561.
Cribbage, couponing
The Durham Eureka Community Center, corner of Route 9 and Route 136, hosts cribbage every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon.
Couponing for the Community meets at the Community Center two Wednesdays each month, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. January’s meetings are on the 14th and 28th. It is a chance to learn couponing basics including where/how to find and collect coupons; how to organize them; and how to begin using them. Pat Provost heads this project with the hopes that some of the skills acquired will be used to give back to the community by helping families in need. Anyone who already uses coupons or would like to know or learn about ways to coupon is welcome. Those who want more information can call Pat at 212-5156.
Food pantry
The Lisbon Area Christian Outreach (LACO) food pantry, which serves the towns of Durham, Bowdoin, and Lisbon Falls, is open Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.-noon and Saturday from 8-10 a.m. The LACO Food Pantry is located at the Marion T. Morse School on School Street, Lisbon Falls. The parking lot is behind the Lisbon United Methodist Church, off Berry Avenue. There is also a free clothing bank.
