The first post office at Cumberland Mills was opened around 1870 in a one-and-a-half-story building on Main Street at Lamb Street. The postmaster was William W. Lamb. The post office photo on the left was taken in 1914, after it relocated to the Warren Block. The post office later moved to a more spacious location in the Warren Block and remained there until the Brackett Street post office and the Cumberland Mills branch were combined into one location in 1981 at the new building on Main Street. The photo on the right shows the present-day portion of the Warren Block where the post office was first located.
