CAPE ELIZABETH – Two paddleboarders in distress were rescued off Kettle Cove Beach in Cape Elizabeth at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. The two were unable to make it back to shore safely on their own, according to a press release issued by the Fire Department.

The town’s WETeam along with fire, rescue and police units were successfully able locate and assist the subjects back to the beach, the press release said.

“We want to take a moment to remind everyone that safety measures should always be taken when participating in recreational activities on the water,” the release added. “Please remember to always wear a life jacket and be familiar with your surroundings.”
