The boys SMAA championship came down the day’s final event at the Portland Expo on Saturday. Going into the 4×210 relay, the Scarborough boys held a four-point lead over Gorham. The Rams needed to win the race and they needed Scarborough to finish no better than fourth to secure the title for the Rams.
The Gorham relay team of Justin Villacci, Cam Stevens, Mike Greatorex and Duncan Allen won the race and the Red Storm came up just short to finish fourth. That allowed the Rams to win the meet with 97 points. Scarborough was second with 95.
