Raymond Bruce Taggart, 88, died Aug. 28, 2016,while visiting family in California.
A native of Westbrook, he was the son of Leland R. and Edel (Biltoft) Taggart. He graduated from Westbrook High school in 1947. While attending high school he worked many summer jobs. One job was pushing the lunch cart in S.D. Warren. He retired from S.D. Warren over 30 years later in a management position. Bruce was proud of his days working in the mill, his time in the Naval Reserve and his Danish decent.
He was married to Frances M. Landry for 63 years and had lived in Naples on Sebago Lake for over 50 years. After his wife’s passing, he moved to Cape Cod to live with his daughter, Maureen.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded by his brothers, Daniel Taggart and Lawrence Taggart, and his sister, Pricilla Allen.
He leaves his daughter, Maureen; grandchildren Travis and Grace; his great-grandson Emerson; his beloved sister Barbara Libby; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was held at the Faith Lutheran Church, 98Roosevelt Trail Windham. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the same church, P.O. Box 1465, Windham, ME 04062.
