SACO — Three candidates are vying for mayor.

The deadline to turn in nomination papers to City Hall was Tuesday.

Current Mayor Don Pilon turned in papers, as did former Mayor Roland “Ron” Michaud and former City Councilor Bette Brunswick.

All current City Councilors will be running for re-election. David Precourt, in Ward 1, is the only councilor who will be running unopposed.

In Ward 2, current City Councilor Leslie Smith is running against Roger Gay. In Ward 3, current City Councilor Thomas Roughan is running against William Doyle.

In Ward 4, current City Councilor Kevin Roche is running against Michael Burman. In Ward 5, current City Councilor Arthur Tardif is running against Alan Minthorn.

In Ward 6, current City Councilor Eric Cote is running against Bryan Courtois. In Ward 7, current City Councilor Nathan Johnston is running against Richard LaRue.

The seat of mayor and all City Council seats are twoyear terms.

Current Ward 3 School Board member Edna Ben- Ami is running unopposed for a three-year term. Current School Board member Kevin Lafortune is running unopposed for a twoyear term in Ward 4. Current School Board member Michel O’Hayon is running unopposed for a three-yearterm in Ward 5. Current School Board member Stanley Mozden is running against Theodore Sirois for a two-year term in Ward 6. Current School Board member Beth Johnston is running unopposed for a three-year term in Ward 7.

There are no candidates for School Board in Wards 1 and 2.
