MONTPELIER, Ver. — Jim McDade threw seven shutout innings to lead Vermont to a 6-2 victory over Sanford in a NECBL baseball game on Friday night.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Mainers.
McDade allowed just one hit and one walk over his seven innings, striking out four.
Sanford starter Robert Ruse allowed four earned runs in four innings, allowing seven hits and three walks.
Jack Parenty led the offensive charge for Vermont, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Sanford scored both of its runs in the ninth inning. Cory Raley singled in Caden Bailey for the first run, with Raly coming in to score on an error.
