GORHAM — The Hyde School indoor track teams competed in a Western Maine Conference meet Friday at the University of Southern Maine.
Falmouth won the girls competition with 219 points, followed by Traip (85), Fryeburg (81), Poland (69), Wells (67), North Yarmouth Academy (63), Sacopee Valley (22) and Hyde (20).
Falmouth also captured the boys meet with 194 points, followed by Wells (150), Fryeburg (78), Sacopee Valley (67), Hyde (42), Poland Regional (41), North Yarmouth Academy (31) and Traip Academy (27).
Among the Hyde girls highlights were Heaven Redd in the Junior 400-meter dash (fourth, 1:14.27), Maddy Preece in the Senior 200 (sixth, 30.71) and 400 (fourth, 1:09.81), Julia Jackson in the Sr. 400 (third, 1:08.65), the Sr. 4 x 200 relay (fifth, 2:10.22) and Xi Wang in the mile (fifth, 6:20.50) and two-mile (sixth, 13:27.99).
For the Hyde boys, Andrew Davis was second in the Jr. 400 (57.90), and third in the Jr. shot put (32-07), Luke Cha fourth in the Sr. 400 (1:16.68), Joel Harris first in the Sr. high jump (5-08), Ethan Morrow third in the Sr. high jump (5-02), and Cody Mitchell sixth in the 800 (2:21.81) and third in the mile (5:06.01).
