PORTLAND (AP) — Central Maine Power Co. says more than 1,100 customers are without power due to high winds.

The utility is reporting early today that more than 900 of the outages are in Franklin and Somerset counties.

Central Maine Power spokeswoman Gail Rice tells the Portland Press Herald that most of the outages began between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday. She says they were caused by high winds.

Emera Maine reports about 500 outages.
