FIFTH-GRADERS work together to cross the Low Elements cable at Chewonki. For more than 20 years, Harpswell students have enjoyed a team-building experience at Chewonki where they learn about about the environment and sustainability. Each class starts fundraising in kindergarten with most of the money earned during the fourth-grade’s annual Chili & Chowdah Challenge, held March 23, 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Harpswell Community School. Enjoy more than 20 chilis and chowders, homemade desserts a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. $7 for adults, $5 for children or $20 for a family.
