FREEPORT —Freeport High School hosted Lake Region Saturday in Western Maine Conference girls soccer play and prevailed, 3-0.
The Falcons’ first goal was scored at 29:09 in the first half by Julia Smith.
The hosts’ second goal came on a cross from Naomi Otis to Alyssa Richardson in the second half with 17:36 left, and the last goal was a direct kick score by Jocelyn Davee with 11:41 remaining.
Lake Region goaltender Sarah Hancock had 13 saves, while Freeport’s Aubrey Pennell came away with two stops.
Freeport improved to 1-1 and is scheduled to visit Fryeburg Academy on Tuesday.

MORSE 5
Morse got its first Class B win of the young season Friday, rolling to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory over Winslow at Bath.
The Shipbuilders got on the board early, benefiting from a nice passing play between Miracle Trimble and Brianna Williams, with Williams pushing the ball in the net.
The Black Raiders put on a surge for 15 minutes, but the defense of Megan Hixon, Baylie Cram, Nichole Laggan and Morgan Cram kept the visitors away from the net.
With less than three minutes left in the first half, Morse found the net twice. The first goal came from Trimble with Williams assisting, while the second was again Trimble, this time helped by Savannah Simmons Grover.
In the second half, Williams finished off a Sophie Sreden corner kick.
Less than a minute later Williams completed her hat trick, benefiting from a Paige Martin feed.
Winslow scored two late goals to deny goaltender Sadia Crosby her second shutout.
Morse, 1-1-1 and scheduled to host Oceanside on Thursday, held a 29-11 shot advantage.

On Saturday, the Greyhounds traveled to Rumford, improved to 1-0-1 and are scheduled to visit Hall-Dale today.
Kayla Angelico got things going with 16:26 left in the first half when she dribbled in from 45 yards out and beat three defenders to the goal.
Renae Samay-Houle converted a Paige Galligan feed at 6:26 of the second half, Chelsea Huston scored off an Angelico feed with 31:11 left, and Jenna Clifford knocked in a rebound of an Angelico shot with 18:42 remaining.
Lisbon outshot Mountain Valley 23-6 and led in corner kicks 6-2.
Lisbon goaltender Courtney Martel had six stops and Mountain Valley’s Katie Puiia had nine stops.
RICHMOND 11
VINALHAVEN 0
In East-West Conference action on Saturday, Sadie Gosse and Jessie Anair scored three goals each as the Bobcats improved to 3-0 and host Greenville on Tuesday.
Taylor Clapp chipped in with two goals, while Payton Johnson, Kelsea Anair and Amber Loon had one goal each. Chika Obi and Noell Acord chipped in with an assist each.
Richmond led in shots 45-3, with goaltenders Kelsi Obi and Ciarra Lancaster combining on two saves and Bri Snedeker and Haley Murphy playing well defensively.
Bethany Candage made 12 stops in the loss.

In Mountain Valley Conference action on Friday, the visiting Cougars handed the Wolverines their first loss of the season.
Natalie Bolduc scored the game’s lone goal when she converted a Lindsay Crutchfield feed at the 3:34 mark of the second half for the Cougars (2-2).
Dirigo outshot Wiscasset, 13-8.
Goaltender Kayla Gordon made 12 saves for Wiscasset, while Dirigo goalie Natasha Deroche turned away eight.
Wiscasset (3-1) is scheduled to host St. Dom’s tonight (6 p.m.).
