LEWISTON — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighth-grade baseball team played against an undefeated Lewiston team on Wednesday.
The Eagles won the battle, coming away with an 8-2 win.
The first and second innings were quick, with both teams getting hits, but strong defense on both sides took care of business.
Mt. Ararat bats came alive in the fourth and fifth innings as the Eagles tallied six runs.
Nate Leslie had three singles, Ryan Glass a single, Ryan Mello had a single and a double, Michael Rogers a single and a double, Nick Merrill a long triple, Kyle Brennan a single, Liam Huston a single and Cam Grant picked up a double for Mt. Ararat.
Mello, Gideon Wheeler and Merrill made solid defensive plays in the win.
Glass, Garrett Moody and Grant handled the pitching duties.
