Mariah Brady, Biddeford senior: Brady was Performer of the Meet at the Class A state finals, accounting for the Tigers’ points. She swam on two relay teams that placed, and won the 50 freestyle (24.57) and 100 freestyle (53.67).

Lydie DaCorte, Mt. Desert Island sophomore: DaCorte won the 500 freestyle by 31 seconds at the Class B finals in a meet-record 5:08.45, then took the 100 butterfly (58.69).

Charlotte Janelle, Falmouth junior: Janelle continued to be the dominant high school diver in Maine, winning her third consecutive state championship. She totaled 395.25 points in her Class A victory, winning by 54 points.

Leila Johnston, Mt. Desert Island senior: Johnston was the easy choice for Performer of the Meet in the Class B championships, setting state records in the 100 freestyle (51.02) and 200 freestyle (1:50.63). She will swim for Florida State next year.

Marshall Lowery, Kennebunk junior: Another double winner at the Class A championships, Lowery’s victory in the 100 backstroke was in a meet-record time of 57.12. She also won the 200 individual medley (2:13.04).

Ana Neff-Jendrasko, McAuley sophomore: Won two events at the Class B championships, including her second consecutive 200 individual medley title (2:12.60), along with a first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.52).

Olivia Paione, Edward Little senior: After winning the 100 freestyle in the 2014 Class A championships, Paione closed out her high school career with a victory in the 100 breast stroke this year, finishing in 1:08.03.

Sadie Stiles, Cape Elizabeth senior: Finished her high school career with a victory in the Class B 100 breast stroke, posting the best time in the state this year (1:07.95). Stiles also won the event at the North Southwesterns.

Ann Tolan, Morse sophomore: After winning the 50 freestyle at the Class A state championships (24.35), Tolan placed second to Leila Johnston in the 100 freestyle, recording the second-best time in the state (53.11).

Caitlin Tycz, Brunswick sophomore: Tycz helped the Dragons win the Class A state championship, winning the 100 butterfly in 54.99 and taking second in the 100 backstroke in 58.47 – the second-best time in the state.

Coach of the Year

Dave Bright, Brunswick: A Colby College graduate, Bright has coached in Maine since 1977, starting with his alma mater. He also has been at Bates College and Lewiston High, plus two stints at Brunswick, 1985-88 and for the past five years. He won his first state title, coaching the Dragons to the Class A title, their first since 2001.
