Marion B. Roberts
EAST WATERBORO – Marion B. Roberts, 91, who often said “I’m a tough old bird,” passed away on May 4, 2023, peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine.
She was born in Hollis to the late Cecil and Beatrice Benson. She graduated from Hollis High School.
Over the years, she worked various jobs, from working on Rescue to caring for people from infancy to elderly. Her greatest joy was living on the lake having a houseful of family and friends. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida, attending church, swimming and boating.
Marion will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband Malcolm Roberts and a daughter, Judy Roberts. She was also predeceased by sisters Verna Dow and Alice Whitehouse, a brother Cecil Benson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stanley and Alice Roberts; and a grandson Zachary Fenderson.
She is survived by daughters, Terry Cram and her husband Stephen of Hollis, Lori Fenderson and her husband Joel of Hollis, and Steven Roberts and his wife Holly of Gorham; sisters, Tootsie Johnson and her husband Charles of Hollis and Maxine Whitehouse of Hollis; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 18 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, West Road, in South Waterboro with Pastor Charles Storey officiating.
