Journeyman Press Operator

The Portland Press Herald is seeking a Journeyman Press Operator to work nights in our South Portland, Maine, plant.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for all areas of the Pressroom and Platemaking operations, including: Prepping rolls of paper; Setting rollers in the press; Standard maintenance of press equipment; All functions to work on the press, folders, and press controls

– Ensures printed products meet all quality standards

– Completes prioritized work to meet deadlines

Our Ideal Candidate has:

– Previous Offset Printing experience.  Goss Urbanite or DGM 850 experience is preferred.

– Previous experience on Jaw and Rotary folders

– Attention to detail

– Ability to work nights and weekends.  We are a 365 operation.

– Works safely and understands safety procedures, including LOTO and Hazard Communication
