Greely football coach David Higgins announced Monday that he is stepping down after 10 years leading the Rangers. Higgins went 50-44, making the playoffs eight straight seasons, including four consecutive trips to the semifinals. This year, Greely, despite even lower numbers than usual, managed to go 5-5 and reach the Class B South semifinals. Higgins cited the annual battle with low numbers and the time demands placed upon him by his business for stepping down.
“It’s been a lot of fun, but it’s time,” said Higgins, who was recently named the Campbell Conference Class B Coach of the Year.
