Mainers who receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families have used EBT cards to withdraw cash benefits in 46 states and two other U.S. jurisdictions.

This map provides state-by-state figures on the number of transactions and the value of benefits withdrawn from Jan. 1, 2011 to Nov. 15, 2013. There were 21,020 transactions outside Maine, which represents 2 percent of all 1.03 million transactions during the period. The total value of withdrawals outside Maine was $2.8 million, which represents 1.7 percent of the $164. 3 million value of all transactions.
