Sarah Abramson is the daughter of Louise and Stuart Abramson. Throughout high school she has participated on the Cross Country, Nordic and Outdoor track teams. In 2010 she received the winter Forecaster most outstanding female athlete. Sarah also participates on the Math, Science Olympiad, Zero Robotics, and Real World Design Challenge teams during the school year. She volunteers at the high school's tutoring center as a peer tutor and in her religious school as an assistant Hebrew teacher. She has received recognition for academic achievement in math, science, English, and history and received the Williams, mathematics, and English book awards. Next fall she will be attending Williams College where she plans to major in mathematics or science.


Alana Becker is the daughter of Rena and Michael Becker. She is a member of the National Honor Society. As vice president of Key Club, she has been actively involved in community service. Alana has volunteered at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine, tutored elementary school children in Portland through Learning Works, and is a junior member of The Cedar’s Auxiliary. She was a volunteer counselor at Camp Sunshine and participated in a service learning trip to Mississippi for Habitat for Humanity. She has also been a DAGS (Decision Awareness Group of Students) advisor to second graders at Lunt School and a peer tutor at Falmouth High School. Alana is a three year varsity volleyball player and served as a senior captain. Senior year she received the Western Maine All-Conference First Team and All-Academic Team Awards and was selected for the Maine Senior All-Star Showcase for volleyball. Alana will attend Cornell University in the fall where she plans to major in human development.


Tommy Bazarian is the son of Rich Bazarian and Ana Cairns. He is an active member of the Theatre Company, Jazz Band, and student-run a cappella group. He has received the Harvard, Princeton Alumni, and Junior English Book Awards. He is President of the Executive Board and a member of National Honor Society and is a National Merit Scholarship recipient. He enjoys playing piano, guitar, and saxophone with his band, Tommy and the Rhythm Rug. Tommy will attend Yale University in the fall and plans to major in English and music.


Jackson Bloch is the son of Richard Frost and Emily Bloch. He is the salutatorian of his class, has been recognized for achievement in English, history, mathematics, and Spanish, and received the Yale Book Award. Jackson is the secretary of the National Honor Society, and was named an AP Scholar With Honor and a National Merit Commended Scholar. He is a four year varsity member of the Nordic ski team, where he was named co-captain his senior year. He is also a member of the varsity sailing team and the cross-country team. Jackson takes part in Model UN where he served as a co-chair, as well as Lincoln Douglass debate, Science Olympiad, and Science Bowl. He also attended Maine Dirigo Boys State in the summer after his junior year. Jackson volunteers at the high school's tutoring center as a peer tutor, is a member of the Environmental Action Committee, and is interested in drawing and photography. Jackson plans to attend Bowdoin College in the fall.


Carolyn Carney is the daughter of Bill and Kate Carney. She is a member of the National Honor Society, an AP Scholar with Honor, and has been recognized for excellence in mathematics, English, and Falmouth High School's emergency technician class. She is a four- year member of Big Buddies and Key Club, where she serves as treasurer. Carolyn has also participated in Maine Medical Explorers and served on the Board of Directors. She volunteers regularly at the Ronald McDonald House and for Soldiers’ Angel and serves as tutor both in and outside of school. Carolyn will attend the University of Vermont this fall where she will be a member of the Honors College majoring in biology


Sarah Jaffe is the daughter of Carol Piotti and Frank Jaffe. For the past four years, she has been an active member of the Falmouth High School Theatre Company as a director, actor, and crew member. She has also been recognized at the Maine Drama Festival for her excellent work on running crew. In the past, she has also enjoyed figure skating with the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club. Sarah is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized for her achievements in Spanish and history. She has also been named an AP Scholar with Distinction and is a National Merit Scholar Commended Student. Sarah will be attending Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in the fall and plans to major in directing.


Zoë Kitchel is the daughter of Ned Kitchel and Charlene Post. She is valedictorian of her class, the recipient of the Dartmouth book award, the Bausch and Lomb honorary science award, and has been recognized for achievement in English, math, Spanish, science, and history. She has been on the nordic ski team and a captain in her senior year. Zoë volunteers at the Children’s Museum of Maine and the Ronald McDonald House. She plays clarinet with the Falmouth High School band, and is a member of the Science Olympiad and Science Bowl Teams. Along with five of her classmates, she has participated in the Real World Design Challenge in Washington DC. During the summer, she is a sailing instructor at Orr’s Bailey Yacht Club in Harpswell. Zoë enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking, sailing, skiing, kayaking, and biking. Each spring she helps to clear trails with the Appalachian Mountain Club. Zoë will attend Yale University this fall and begin studies in environmental science.


Sean Lannon is the son of Mark and Connie Lannon of Falmouth. He is a member of the National Honor Society, has been recognized for academic achievement in mathematics, chemistry, history, French, and English and has received the College of The Atlantic Book Award. Sean was named to the all-academic cross country and swim teams and as co-captain of the swim team he was the recipient of the Southwestern Swim Officials Scholarship. He is a member of numerous performing arts groups. He plays piano, percussion, and steel drums in the school band, sings with school chorus, vocal jazz choir, chamber singers, an a capella group, performs with the Theatre Company, and is ten-year member of The Boy Singers of Maine. He has twice been selected to Maine All-State Chorus and All-State Jazz Choirs. He is a member of the Key Club and Decision Awareness Group of Students (DAGS). Sean will attend Emory University in the fall and plans to major in business.


Mathew MacDowell is the son of Steve and Karen MacDowell. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized for academic achievement in math, English, history, and French. Matt is a four-year varsity baseball and hockey player, was named captain of the baseball team his junior and senior years and captain of the hockey team his senior year. He has also been a three-time First Team All-Conference Baseball and All-State Hockey Selection. Matt will attend Dartmouth College in the fall where he will play baseball and major in economics.


Katherine McConnell is the daughter of Dave McConnell and Janine Lambert. She is an AP Scholar with Honor and a member of the National Honor Society. She has received recognition for academic achievement in history, English and science. Katherine has been an actress, dancer, and choreographer for The Theatre Company at Falmouth High School for four years. Throughout high school she has been a member of the pre-professional dance company, Portland Youth Dance. Through the company she taught many free dance classes to local children at Casco Bay Movers dance studio and at the East End Community School. She studied ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, and hip hop styles. She has also participated in volleyball and Model United Nations. As a sophomore, Katherine traveled to Guatemala for a Safe Passage service trip. Katherine will attend Dartmouth College in the fall.


Jamie Sabo is the daughter of Tim and Linda Sabo. She has participated in the Varsity soccer program as a three-year starter and was voted co-Captain for her senior year. Her team has won two state titles. During the fall, she shares her love for soccer by coaching for Falmouth Community Programs. She has been a four-year member of the Drug Awareness Group of Students (DAGS), and has participated in other volunteer activities, which includes regular visits to the Ronald McDonald House. For her excellence in academics, Jamie has been recognized as a three-year member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar. She has participated in Key Club and Executive board, and for her senior year has served as President and Vice President, respectively. Jamie plans to attend Loyola University Maryland’s Honors Program in the fall where she will be studying biology.


Katherine Sparks is the daughter of Jane and Andy Sparks. She is a member of National Honor Society and has received various academic awards including the Mount Holyoke Book Award. She is a varsity athlete; volleyball in the fall, and track in the winter and spring. This past year she was awarded the Fall Forecaster Female Athlete Award and the Leadership Award for volleyball. In the winter she was the Class B shot put state champion and awarded the Western Maine Conference Citizenship Award. For the past four years she has also played on a travel volleyball team, and on a beach volleyball league. She will be attending Pennsylvania State University in the fall.


Eric Tierney is the son of Kevin and Cris Tierney of Falmouth. He is a member of the National Honors Society and has received recognition for academic achievement in math, science, history, and English. He received the University of Rochester’s George Eastman Young Leaders Award in his junior year. He is a National Merit Finalist and an AP Scholar with Honor. He is a four-year varsity lacrosse member and two-year varsity soccer member. Eric participates in the Model United Nations, Zero Robotics, the Real World Design Challenge, and First Robotics. He is also a peer tutor in the high school’s tutoring center. Eric’s other interests include skiing and golf. Eric will attend Brown University in the fall and plans to major in engineering.


Amy Webster is the daughter of Valerie Webster and David Webster. She is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and president of the National Honor Society. She received the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Achievement award as well as recognition for achievement in mathematics, science, and French. Amy participates in cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track. This year she served as captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams. Amy is a peer tutor at Falmouth High School and has volunteered at Special Olympics soccer for the past four years. She served as a co-chair of the Model United Nations team and is also a member of the math team and senior executive board. Amy will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall where she plans to major in biomedical engineering.


Micah Zuckerman is the son of Jonathan and Karen Zuckerman. He was named a National Merit Finalist. He has been a member of the cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams. In his senior year he served as co-captain of the indoor track team and was elected to the Western Conference All-Academic team. He also received the Rochester Institute of Technology award for scientific innovation and recognition for academic achievement in Chinese language. He enjoys art and design and has worked at the Maine Mathematics and Engineering Talent Search Camp as an instructor of modular origami and Lego robotics. In addition, he was selected to the University of Maine Pulp & Paper Foundation's "Consider Engineering" summer program. He will attend Northwestern University where he plans to major in chemical engineering.
