    Top Ten and Honor Graduates

    Valedictorian, Michael Vittori, is the son of Nicole Insanally and Stefan Vittori of South Berwick. Michael is a member of the Piscataqua Chapter of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. He has played trumpet in Marshwood's jazz, marching, and concert bands, as well as the UNH Youth Band. Since the age of six, Michael has studied piano, with various classical and jazz musicians and through the UNH Piano Extension Program. He has played on the Marshwood tennis team since freshman year, and in his senior year, Michael was a member of the Marshwood Math A-team. In the course of his high school career, Michael received the Louis Armstrong Award, the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award, multiple Aimee Schramm Book awards, and departmental awards for Spanish, Physics, Geometry, Concert Band, and Biology/Chemistry. In his free time, Michael enjoys playing the piano, skiing, biking, traveling, keeping up to date on scientific developments, and playing video games. Michael will be attending the University of Rhode Island as an honor student in the pharmacy program.

    Salutatorian, Catherine Pouliot, is the daughter of Elizabeth Werker and Gary Pouliot of South Berwick. Kate is the vice president of the Piscataqua Chapter of the National Honor Society and has served on the executive board of the school's student government for the past two years. During her high school career, Kate was involved in the Latin Club, the Wellness Committee, and Sober Friends. She was also the stage manager of the musical "Aida". Kate is a captain on the varsity track and field team and is also an avid horseback rider. In her senior year, she was a member of Marshwood's "We the People" State Championship Team and the three-person team that won the "We the People" Unit Six National Award. Kate is an AP Scholar, the recipient of the York County Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, and a Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist. She is also a National Merit Scholar. Additionally, Kate won the Rensselaer Science Medal, the Clyde Russell Award, the Norman B. Sherwood Award, and departmental awards in English, Latin, and History. She works as a mentor and tutor for high school students in math, and she volunteers with the Dover Friendly Kitchen, the UNH Therapeutic Riding Program, and the South Berwick Hot Summer Nights Program. In her free time, Kate enjoys skiing, dressage, and playing soccer. She works at Old Navy in Kittery. In the fall, Kate will be attending the University of Maine in Orono with a major in Animal Science and a pre-veterinary concentration.

    Ian Ramsay is the son of Marianne and David Ramsay of South Berwick. He played varsity lacrosse, ran cross country, and is a four-year member of the math team. Ian recently competed in the national finals for "We The People," a U.S. Constitution-based competition. During his Marshwood career, he was a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, and the school's student government. In his free time, Ian likes to mountain bike, snowboard, and spend time in the wilderness. He will study biochemistry in college.

    Rebecca Dodier is the daughter of Beth and Jay Dodier of Eliot. In her years at Marshwood, Rebecca has been a member of the track team, student government, and Latin Club; and she is currently the secretary of the National Honor Society. Rebecca has received the Latin award and was selected as Marshwood's Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership representative. She also was recognized with the senior class superlative of Best Dressed. Since eighth grade, Rebecca has worked year round at Market Basket , and she has engaged in many local community service activities, including car washes, soup kitchens, and church events. Additionally, Rebecca has committed herself to extended community service as a cat caretaker at the NHSPCA and a candy striper at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, reading, traveling, and hanging out with her friends. Rebecca will attend Northeastern University in the fall to major in International Business (Hong Kong).

    Aubrey Shea Folger is the daughter of Steven and Laurel Folger of South Berwick. Aubrey has played basketball since the second grade, and she played three years on the Marshwood varsity team. In her junior and senior years, Aubrey earned her team's Most Valuable Defensive Player Award, and in her senior year she also received the Players' Choice Award. Additionally, for her senior season, Aubrey was named to the following all-star teams: Southern Maine Athletic Association All-Defensive, SMAA 2nd Team, SMAA All-Academic, Maine McDonald's All-Star, and Bangor Daily News All-Maine Girls Basketball Honorable Mention. Aubrey also played soccer as a freshman, track as a sophomore, and varsity tennis as a junior and senior. She is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. While at MHS, Aubrey participated in her school's MASK (My Attitude Saves Kids) club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Aubrey is an active member of Eliot Baptist Church and participates in its youth group and bible study. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends and being outside. In the fall Aubrey is attending Lancaster Bible College with an undecided major.

    Rebecca Green is the daughter of Brenda and Jonathan Green of Eliot. Throughout her high school career, she has participated in marching band and jazz band. Rebecca is the treasurer of the National Honor Society. She was a member of Marshwood's "We the People" State Championship Team and a member of the Biofuel Club. Outside of academics, Rebecca is an active participant in community outreach programs. Rebecca has worked at the Eliot Dunkin' Donuts for three years. In the fall, Rebecca will attend the University of New England with a major in pre-medicine.

    Troy Pappas is the son of Mary and John Pappas of Eliot, He was the 2011 recipient of the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award. He is a member of Interact, Rotary International's service club for young people, student government, National Honor Society. Troy was also a member of the school's Math Team and helped Marshwood to a sixth place finish at States this year. From 2010-2012, Troy attended the Southern Maine Athletic Association All-Academic Team. While at MHS, Troy played four years of varsity baseball and was named a captain his junior and senior years. He made the SMAA all-defensive team 2011. Troy started at quarterback for three years on the school's football team and was named a captain his senior year. Troy was recognized as the football team's offensive MVP for 2010 and the team's MVP for the 2011 season. Additionally, he has been selected to represent Marshwood in the Kora Shriner's Lobster Bowl, Maine's all-star football game. Troy played varsity basketball for two years and won the Coach's Award his senior year. Outside of school, Troy has participated as a volunteer for the Friend's Project and the Special Olympic Team Portsmouth Basketball organization. During the summer he works at Bob's Clam Hut and part-time for Fernandes and Sons Landscaping. Troy will be attending Bates College in the fall, majoring in biochemistry and planning to attend medical school to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery. He will play football for the Bobcats.

    Casey Brown is the son of Nicholas and Alicen Brown of Eliot. While at Marshwood, he has been a member of the National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society, and he has served on the executive board of student government. Additionally, Casey received the Clarkson University Leadership Award, earned a flying scholarship from the Experimental Aircraft Association, and was recognized as a member of the Southern Maine Athletic Association's All-Academic Team. During his high school career, he has been a member of the soccer team, tennis team, and ski team. He was also selected to the SMAA All-Conference Ski Team. In his spare time, Casey volunteers as a counselor at a summer wilderness camp and works part-time at Papa Wheelies Bicycle Shop. He enjoys skiing, surfing, and biking. Since the sixth grade, he has been flying out of Hampton Airfield and pursuing a pilot's license; he hopes to be licensed before leaving for Worcester Polytechnic Institute this fall. Casey plans to study mechanical and/or aerospace engineering and someday hopes to become involved in the private space industry.

    Hannah Dwelley, daughter of Christine and Neal Dwelley of South Berwick, has participated in both field hockey and lacrosse at Marshwood. She is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. Hannah is the secretary of Tri-M (Modern Music Masters), the musical honor society. Hannah has enjoyed spending her free time teaching Marshwood youngsters to play field hockey. She has participated in the high school musicals at MHS and has been a part of MASK (My Attitude Saves Kids), a group that encourages good choices in teens and youth in the school district. She was also in the Wellness group and Sober Friends her sophomore year.
