    Valedictorian Emma Faith
    Emma is the daughter of Frank and Lisa Faith of Waterboro. She bypassed her sophomore year of high school to graduate early. Emma played the French horn in the Allstate Music Festival, District One Honors Music Festival and the Portland Youth Music Ensembles for her three years of high school. She has also been the pianist for the Newfield United Methodist Church for the three years. Her Junior year she received the Phi Beta Kappa Award and Emma participated in SIIRO for her Freshmen and Junior years. Her Senior year she became a National Honor Society member. In addition, Emma maintained high honors and received numerous academic awards. Emma will be attending American University in Washington D.C. to get her undergraduate degree in Arabic and Psychology. She plans to continue on to get her Masters in Forensic Psychology and her Doctorate in Abnormal Psychology to finally become a Behavioral Analyst for the FBI.

    Salutatorian John Secunde
    John is the son of Jim and Danae Secunde of Limerick. John has been a member of the Portland Youth Wind Ensemble and the MHS Jazz band for his four years of high school. For his sophomore, junior and senior years he was also involved in the Allstate Music Festival, District One Honors Festival and the Saco River Jazz Ensemble. John’s freshmen year he joined the Drama club and participated in that for his junior and seniors years as well. He also received the prestigious St. Thomas Book Award in his junior year. John will study at SUNY Fredonia majoring in Music Composition.

    Honor Essayist Jacqueline Stolo
    Jacqueline is the daughter of Vincent Stolo of Maynard, MA and Christin Hanson of Alfred. She has been a member of the Concert Band for all four years and NJROTC for her freshmen, sophomore, and senior years. While a member of NJROTC she received Cadet of the month all three years. She also participated in the Drill Team and was the Color Guard Commander her sophomore year. She maintained high honors all four years and participated in the Dual Enrollment at YCCC. Jacqueline’s sophomore year she received a Veteran’s of World Wars medal, her junior year she was a Girl’s State delegate and her senior year she was a member of the clarinet choir. Jacqueline also completed 100 hours of community service during her time at MHS. Jacqueline will be attending the University of Maine at Orono to study Biological Engineering in their Honors program.

    Abbey Auger
    Abbey is the daughter of Roland and Joleen Auger of Waterboro. She maintained the honor roll during all four years of high school. Abbey was part of the Swim Team for four years and received the Coaches Award her freshmen year and was the captain her senior year. In addition she was nominated for the Lions Club Leadership Award her senior year. Abbey will be attending the University of New Haven for a double major in Chemistry and Forensic Science, where she received an academic scholarship.

    Jessica Bennett
    Jessica is the daughter of Todd and Katherine Bennett of North Waterboro. Jessica is a member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honor Society. She has held High Honors status for all four years of high school. As a student of the Vocational program, she received the silver medal for Medical Math in the Skills USA state competition. Jessica has plans to attend the University of New England in the fall to obtain her BSN. She will major in Nursing and will continue on to receive her Master’s Degree. She will then use that degree to become a nurse and midwife.

    Jonna Casoli
    Jonna is the daughter of John and Donna Casoli of Waterboro. Jonna was a Student Leadership Team member her freshmen year and in addition received Honored Student of the Month for November, and an award in Honors Geophysical Science. She was also involved in Chorus and was selected to the Chamber singers her sophomore year. She remained in Chamber Singers for the rest of high school. She was also selected to be part of the District 1 Choir. Jonna became a member of the National Honor Society her junior year. She was on the honor roll all four years and received recognition for it by the House of Representatives. Jonna has volunteered numerous hours on her own and with the National Honor Society. She also worked a part time job and attended 4 college courses at YCCC and SMCC. Jonna has enrolled in the Food Science and Human Nutrition program at the University of Maine at Orono. Her plan is to become a dietician or an eating disorder counselor.

    Kathleen Duffy
    Kathleen is the daughter of Stephen and Anne Marie Duffy, of North Waterboro. Kathleen played JV Soccer her freshmen year and then Varsity Soccer for the other 3 years of high school. She is also the Assistant Soccer Coach for the Massabesic United Soccer Club. She also participated in Outdoor Track her freshmen year and did both Indoor and Outdoor Track sophomore, junior, and senior years. Kathleen was an intern for the Energy Efficiency Coordinator her junior year. In addition to her school activites Kathleen is an Alter Server for her church, Saint Matthews Church. Kathleen has plans to attend the University of New England in the fall to major in Applied Exercise Science.

    Nicholas Evans
    Nicholas is the son of David and Mary Evans, of East Waterboro. Nicholas has been an active member of the NJROTC program at MHS receiving the Military Order of World Wars award his freshmen year and the Daedalion in his Junior year. He also received a scholastic award in his sophomore year. Nicholas was a member of the Jazz Band for his first three years, the Debate Team his sophomore year and the Swim Team in his junior year. He was a member of the National Honor Society for two years. Nicholas will be attending Southern Maine Community College majoring in Culinary Arts.

    Sarah Evans
    Sarah is the daughter of David and Mary Evans, of East Waterboro. During high school, Sarah was involved with the Debate Team during her sophomore year. She was also part of the Swim Team for the first three years and played Tennis all four years. Sarah achieved High Honor Roll during her freshmen year and then maintained Honor Roll for her remaining three years. Sarah will be attending the University of Southern Maine in the fall.

    Shantel Giguere
    Shantel is the daughter of Alice Giguere, of Shapleigh. She was on the honor roll for all four years of high school. Shantel has been a member of the swim team from her sophomore year to her senior year, a member of the Tennis Team during her sophomore year, and a member of the student council as a freshmen. Shantel volunteered at Camp Laughing Loon as a sophomore and was part of the prom committee her for her junior year. Shantel received Honored Student of the Month during her senior year and as a student at the Vocational Center, was recognized with the Outstanding Student Award for Health Occupations and ranked 1st place in local for the Skills USA competition She will be attending USM in the fall to study Nursing.

    Alyssa Gilman
    Alyssa is the daughter of Peter and Penny Gilman of Alfred. She has played Soccer throughout her four years. As a freshmen Alyssa was on the JV Soccer team and was recognized as the Most Improved Player, and as a Varsity Soccer player she received the SMAA All Academic Award for three years. She was the team captain in her senior year. Alyssa played Varsity Lacrosse all four years with an award for Most Improved Player in her freshmen year, SMAA All Academic Award and All American Academic Award in her sophomore and junior years, and SMAA Honorable Mention Team Award during her junior year. Her other activities include Indoor Track where she participated in her sophomore and junior years and received the SMAA All Academic Award both years and SMAA Honorable Mention Team Award in her sophomore year. Alyssa was a Massabesic Girl’s Youth Lacrosse Coach for her four years of school. She volunteered for the Special Education Summer School program her freshmen year, was a Massabesic Leo Club member her sophomore year, and National Honor Society for her junior and senior years. Alyssa will be attending the University of New Hampshire to major in Social Work.

    Erica Guimond
    Erica is the daughter of Toby and Joanne Guimond, of East Waterboro. She has been an active participant in the girls Soccer and Basketball programs all four years. Erica was recognized as Best Offensive Player for the JV Basketball team in her sophomore year scoring 128 points for the season and Most Improved Varsity Player her senior year being recognized for the high scorer for the team with 31 points scored from the 3 point line. She has also been on the High Honors and Honor Roll for four years. Erica played the flute in the band for her freshmen and sophomore years. During her junior and senior years she was a member of the AAU Maine Hoops Basketball team. Erica was selected as a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society her junior year and remained on both her senior year as well. Erica went through the CNA program at Sanford Vocational Center and acquired her CNA license. Erica will be attending St. Joseph’s College of Maine where she is enrolled in their Pre-Med program. After completing the program, her aspirations are to become a doctor in Allergy Immunology or Sports Medicine.

    Audrey Hoyle
    Audrey is the daughter of Michael and Julie Hoyle of Alfred. Audrey’s activities include Culture Club and Basketball for her four years of high school. In her sophomore year she added Math Team to her activities and became involved as a volunteer at the York County Shelter and continued volunteering for her remaining high school years. Audrey was inducted into the National Honor Society and played Varsity Tennis for her junior and senior years. While a junior she also became a volunteer for the Youth Basketball Clinics. Audrey became captain of the Basketball team and recognized as MVP during her senior year. She also received the Lions Club Youth Recognition Award in her senior year. Audrey will be attending Oregon State studying Pre-Med. Her plans are to become a Pediatric Surgeon and donate her medical services to those in need.

    Jazmyn Ireland
    Jazmyn is the daughter of Richard Ireland and Diana Mills both of Lyman. For her freshmen year Jazmyn was a manager for Football, a Student Council Representative, and a Pee Wee Cheering Coach. Her sophomore year she played JV Tennis, ran Indoor Track, and was a member of the Green Team (recycling). She was involved with the Upward Bound college program, the Sea Cadets program, and participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership training. As a junior she continued in the Sea Cadets and Upward Bound programs. She volunteered to assist the Prom Committee and played for the Varsity Tennis team. She was inducted into the National Honor Society and attended a STEM summer seminar. In her senior year she completed the Upward Bound program and served her second year in National Honor Society. Jazmyn has been a very involved member of NJROTC program all four years and was an active member of the Drill Team. She was the Drill Team captain for her junior and senior years. Her sophomore year she was also the NJROTC Supply Assistant, Armory Officer, and Community Service Officer. Jazmyn’s junior year, she was Training Officer, Special Teams, and Community Service Officer. Her last year of school her activities included NJROTC Special Teams and Executive Officer. Jazmyn received numerous awards that included Veterans of Foreign Wars NJROTC Citation and Award, the Sons of the American Revolution Bronze ROTC medal, Military Officers Association of America Award, Scholastic Excellence, Honor Cadet and All Academic Team Award. She was also awarded the prestigious Regis College Book Award her junior year. Jazmyn also recorded 325.5 hours of community service work during her four years at MHS. She will be attending the University of New England in the fall and then attend a graduate school for Veterinary degree.

    Kaelyn Kuni
    Kaelyn is the daughter of Stephanie Kuni of Waterboro and Robert Kuni of Portland. She has been a Varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse athlete for all four years of high school. She also participated in Indoor Track for her sophomore year and Ski Bus as a junior and senior. Awards include Most Improved Player Award her senior year in Indoor Track, Field Hockey MVP and 2nd Team All Conference for her junior and senior years. Varsity Lacrosse Athletic awards include MVP and 1st Team All Conference for her junior year and awards have not yet been determined for her senior year. She will be attending USM in the fall and will play college Lacrosse.

    Amber Libby
    Amber is the daughter of April Libby of Waterboro. Amber was an active athlete both in and out of school. Amber played Varsity Soccer as a freshmen and was selected Most Improved Player. She participated in Cross Country her sophomore year, Wrestling her freshmen and sophomore years, Varsity Golf during her junior and senior years, and Varsity Softball all four years. As a Wrestler Amber was a Girls State Champion, Girls New England Champion, and ranked 11th in Girls National Championship in Michigan. She was also considered an alternate in the Coed State Meet and recognized by Catherine McAuley high school in her freshmen year as Athlete of the Month. In Varsity Golf she attended the Women’s State Meet as a senior. Amber also excelled in Varsity Softball and received the Coaches Award in 11th grade and was named Captain in her senior year. Outside of school sports, Amber was a team mate on the Southern Maine Smashers from 8th grade and throughout her four years of high school. She competes all summer with other teammates from other Southern Maine high schools with tournaments every weekend. Their record is 150 wins and less than 30 losses over the 5 year time span. Amber plays multi positions for the team. She works for the family business, Third Alarm Diner, all year. Amber was a member of the Key Club in her freshmen year and their mission was to record 50 hours or more of community service as a club. She also attended the State Meet in Bangor with the Math Team. Amber’s community service hours include Adapted PE leader working with special ed students, Hugs for Haley 5K Walk/Run, Wrapping donated Christmas gifts for the Wells Police Department, kept score for Youth Wrestling matches and was a Little League Softball Umpire for the Alfred Parks and Rec Softball Group. Academic achievements include Student of the Month as a sophomore, and Honor Roll or High Honors and SMAA All Academic Athletic Award for all four years. Amber plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology majoring in Computing Exploration.

    Kaylond Mauzerolle
    Kaylond is the daughter of Dan and Sherry Mauzerolle of East Waterboro. She has been a member of the Swim Team for all four years of high school. Kaylond was the MIP for her senior and junior years and received a varsity letter her sophomore year and a varsity pin in her senior year. She became a member of the Culture Club and the School Newpaper in her sophomore year and continued with them for the remainder of school. Kaylond was a Girl’s State Delegate her sophomore year and Athlete and Student of the Month in her senior year. She maintained Honor Roll and High Honors throughout her time at MHS and received numerous Academic Achievement Awards. Kaylond will be attending the College of Staten Island majoring in Journalism and Communications.

    Mallory McLaughlin
    Mallory is the daughter of Anne Cuffey and James McLaughlin both of West Newfield. She was a Choral member for her freshmen, sophomore, and junior years. Also as a freshman, Mallory was her Class Vice President. Her junior year she received awards in her Honors Chemistry and Honor Problems of Democracy classes and was a member of the Prom Committee. Mallory also received the prestigious Stone Hill Book Award her junior year. She was inducted to the National Honor Society and was a member for both her junior and senior years. Mallory was the Treasurer for the National Honor Society and was the Massabesic High School Ambassador her senior year. She maintained High Honor Roll all four years and was recognized by the State of Maine for outstanding academic achievement. Her community activities include volunteering at the Newfield Public Library, the Hilltop Boilers, and Church Suppers. In addition she collected items to travel to Boston to volunteer at a homeless shelter. Her volunteer hours total more than 120 during high school. Mallory was a Southern, Maine 4H Horse Camp and Homeless Outreach Program participant. With her 4H Club she helped to raise money to maintain the Ossipee Valley Fair Horse Show Ring and to clean up the fairgrounds. Mallory held positions of President, Treasurer, Vice President, and Secretary for the 4H Tails and Trails. She works for Libby and Son U-Picks of Limerick and Bond Mountain Acres Christmas Tree farm of West Newfield. Mallory will attend Bentley University to obtain her Masters Degree in Accounting. She will use her degree to become a Certified CPA and CMA and return to Maine to work with small businesses.

    Casey Nava
    Casey is the son of Tony and Lisa Nava of North Waterboro. He played Football, Basketball, and Baseball for his entire high school career. Casey received many awards for sports and academics. All four years he received All Academic Awards for all three sports. Other football awards included All SMAA Defensive Back 1st and 2nd Team, All SMAA Running Back 1st Team, All SMAA Utility Player 1st Team, and All SMAA Honorable Mention. Baseball awards included Underclassmen All-star Selection and All SMAA 2nd Baseman. For his junior and senior year he was captain of the football team and Baseball and Basketball Captain for his senior year. Casey also participated in the Leo Club and was a member of the Math Team. He will attend St. Joseph’s College majoring in Marketing and will continue to play baseball.

    Katie Perreault
    Katie is the daughter of Paul and Louise Perreault of Shapleigh. Katie played on the Tennis Team during her sophomore and junior years. She took Honors classes for all four years and was on the Honor Roll every year. She also took an AP BIO class her senior year. Katie will be attending UNE in the fall to study Pre-Dental where she received a scholarship for her academic achievement.

    Madeline Sanborn
    Madeline is the daughter of Jeffrey and Catherine Sanborn of North Waterboro. She played Soccer and Lacrosse her entire four years. She also ran Varsity Indoor Track from her sophomore to senior year. Madeline was a member of the Leo Club, a Philly Lacrosse Coach and a Student Rep to SMAA Sportsmanship Summit during her sophomore year. In her junior year she became Chairperson of Massabesic Girl’s Lacrosse Community Service-Projects and during her junior and senior years they participated in Camp Sunshine Clean Up Day and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital “Easter Basket Project”. She was also a Certified Referee for US Soccer Federation, Soccer Maine, as a freshmen and sophomore, and she went with her church, Lakeside Church, on a mission trip to Raleigh, NC both years. As a junior, Madeline was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and she was a Student Representative for the NEASC committee. She became Treasurer for the Student Council and Vice President for the National Honor Society in her senior year and a Student Panel member for RISC/Performance Based Education. Madeline was on the Honor Roll for all four years and added employment at Shaker Pond Ice Cream to her schedule from her sophomore to her senior years. Her other awards included SMAA All Academic Soccer Team and SMAA All Academic Lacrosse Team Awards for her sophomore, junior, and senior years. In addition Madeline received an award for US Lacrosse All Academic her junior year and Student Athlete of the Month for her senior year. Madeline will be attending the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

    Katherine Sobanik
    Katherine is the daughter of Bert and Nancy Sobanik of Lyman. Katherine was a Student Leadership Team member for her freshmen and sophomore years. She participated in Ski Bus and Varsity Cross Country for her sophomore, junior and senior years. Katherine became a member of the National Honor Society for her junior and senior years and a member of the Student Advisory council for her senior year. During all four years at MHS, Katherine ran for the Varsity Track Team and in her senior year she added Varsity Indoor Track. She received Letters in Track for four years and a letter in cross country her last three years. Her senior year she was recognized with the Coaches Award in Cross Country and the SMAA Citizenship Award. Katherine was also selected to receive the prestigious St. Michael’s Book Award her junior year. Outside of school Katherine is member of the Alfred Parish Church. In her freshmen year she was a Third Member at Large of the Executive Committee of the Maine UCC State Youth Council and became Treasurer/Historian which she remained throughout the rest of high school. Katherine will be attending the University of Maine Orono in the fall to study Wildlife Ecology. Her goal is to become a certified Wildlife Biologist and work to preserve and conserve the Earth and all its wildlife for future generations.

    Andrea Thompson
    Andrea is the daughter of Deb Thompson of Alfred. All through high school, Andrea was an Art Club Assistant at the St Thomas School. She also played Tennis for her freshmen, sophomore, and junior years and was given the Coaches Award in her sophomore year and Most Improved Player in her junior year. Andrea received a Certificate of Appreciation from the York County Sheriff’s Department for the T-Shirts she designed and printed for Camp Postcard 2011. Katherine has been a member of the National Honor Society since her junior year. She will pursue a career in Surgical Technology through Maine Medical’s Certificate Program. Andrea also hopes to travel and see the world.

    Zachary Traver
    Zachary is the son of Henry and Donna Traver of Limerick. He played Football and Basketball as a freshmen and sophomore, and Tennis during all four years. Zachary received an Academic Award his sophomore year in his Honors Geometry class. Zachary is an Altar Server for Saint Matthews Church in Limerick. In his junior and senior years he ran Indoor Track. Zachary was a Dirigo Boys State Delegate and was elected a member of the House of Representatives in his junior year and Honored Student of the Month in November for his senior year. He participated in the Summer Police Cadet Academy in between his junior and senior years. Zachary plans to attend St. Anselm College in the Honors Program majoring in Criminal Justice. His Goal is to work in Federal Law Enforcement.

    Brian Wardwell
    Brian is the son of Adam and Monica Wardwell of Limerick. Brian played Baseball and Soccer during all four year and participated in Maine History Day for his first three years. He received awards for Runner Up in Maine History day in his freshmen and sophomore years and came in 1st place as a sophomore. Brian was chosen as Rookie of the year in Baseball as a sophomore and received the SMAA All Star Utility Award in his junior year. Also in his junior year he was selected MVP for soccer and received the Coach’s Award his senior year. Brian also was a participant in National History Day is Washington, DC in his sophomore year. In his freshmen year Brian wrote an essay on Christopher Columbus for the DAR Essay contest and his senior year wrote an essay for the Amvets Essay Contest and was the state winner for both. He has also participated in Regional Fine Arts Vocal Music his freshmen year. Brian served as a Special Olympics Volunteer three years. Brian served as Class President as a sophomore and junior and also ran for Mr. MHS every year. He came in 3rd place during his sophomore year. His senior year he added Student Council Charitable Activities Coordinator to his list of activities and was given the SMAA Citizenship Award. Brian will be attending USM in the fall to study Mechanical Engineering. He will also continue to take Music classes to enhance his musical abilities as a singer.

    Madeline Waugh
    Madeline is the daughter of Christopher and Sandra Waugh of Limerick. During her freshmen year, Madeline participated in Drama. In addition, during her sophomore and junior years she played Tennis and was a member of the jazz band with her Bass Guitar. Madeline also became a Student Council Member in her sophomore year and continued right through her senior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society for her junior and senior years and became Vice President for the class of 2013 in her senior year. Outside of MHS, Madeline had her own Art Show at the Limerick Public Library in November 2012. Madeline will attend the University of Southern Maine to major in Psychology and become a Child Psychologist.

    Keara White
    Keara is the daughter of James and Phyllis White of Waterboro. Keara played Lacrosse for all four years of high school. She also played Soccer during her first three years, Basketball as a freshmen and sophomore, and Indoor Track in her junior year. In addition to her sports, Keara was a member of the NEASC Committee for her freshmen and sophomore years and a member of the Leo Club in her senior year. She has been on the Honor Roll for her entire high school career. Keara plans to attend UMO in the fall. She will major in Kinesiology studying to become a Physical Therapist.
